When I Started:
Apr, 2006
How I Started:
well in college i had a nice overall physique,i would work out at the local gym in my home city for three hours(was overtraining), but hey i was 17 so loads of energy and besides that time info on nutrition and work out was low in india, then after college i joined my dad's business maintained my physique for a year or so and then the decline started from 72 kgs i went straight to 94 kgs lost a lot of muscle gained a lot of fat lot of stress at work and tea and cofee loaded with sugar, then i moved to dubai and one day on the scale when i saw 96 kgs, i told myself that if i can't do it now, i will never do it, so i started initially i started with cardio, as i had very less knowledge of training and techique, but i had the "eye of the tiger" i was like the rock(rocky movies are my favorite) didn't have the tech and the know how but i had heart, would run for ten k's on the treadmill and on the road, my knees would hurt in the morning but i would still go for another run in the evening, i swam too came down to 78 kgs, but what i noticed was that i was losing shape so started with some weights at my building gym, but my nutrition was haywire i would starve myself and that wasn't good, then i joined the nautilus academy, and i met my mentor "Victoria Thorpe" she was a former wnso figure champ i joined up for the body for life program offered by EAS, went through it came down to 17 percent bodyfat, but still i couldn't find the shape i was looking for, vicky guided me through those rough patches where results were not good, she also encouraged me to see bodybuilding.com where i found a lot of answers, about myself, what body type was i, what should be my nutrition, it has been a learning curve for me, reading how people have overcome genetics, and nutrition, workout plans, i learnt how to feel good about my body and how to patiently pursue my goals, its been a long road of self discovery although i don't train now with Vicky i owe her a lot, i can still hear her words ringing, with weights "less is more" and cardio "more is less", i understand today what she meant, the way she pushed me "get that other one out of ya" and i would do it, when she would push me i would remember a scene from rocky when mickey tells rock "one more round cause mickey loves you" for me my mick was vicky i miss her a lot, but i have learned now to train alone, and i feel today i am on a road that will get me my dream, the shape i want to be in, and one day i want to honor her by competing her just once in life at a natural bodybuilding competition, its not for money or recognition, it is for a sport i have come to love, a sport of so much dedication, a sport that teaches you to live healthy and positively. and now my knees don't hurt on the treadmill, cause on my way i found my answers why they were aching.
Why I Love It:
well its a stress buster for me basically,
and i have the core of a fighter and the want to be physically fit always in good health, so there you go thats why i like bodybuilding, your body is a reflection of what you are inside, i love the dedication and discipline that comes with it.
How I Stay Motivated:
well i keep telling myself never give up i am bit like the rock "just dunno how to give up" i am a fighter to the core so i keep on fighting, sometimes results come fast some times slow, and sometimes zero, but i keep on going. ever heard the song from hercules "go the distance". i am that kind of guy, i wanna go the distance no matter what it takes, no retreat no surrender.
BB Accomplishments:
till now none, would like to compete sometime in the future, just for the thrill of it, cause i am happy with my business, and i love it too.

Thank you so much, that really means a lot to me. I too have my own battle with a very serious disease. Exercise for me has helped me to channel that negative into something that is positive. I believe its even helped me stay alive There are so many girls beautiful girls who are in this contest so I will just cross my fingers, and really appreciate your votes! 3 days left till round 1 is over
