Overall Goal: I was a size 20 when I started my weight loss journey. I'm a size 4 now (and still can't believe it!) Next goal: compete! I wanna be in the Women's Tri-Fitness in 2010!...and do an unassisted pullup...whichever comes first. HA!
Fit Status:
Suddenly lost a very dear family member unexpectedly this weekend. Thanks in advance for your prayers and concerns.
I finally got to meet my mentor, the man who taught me everything I know about my current profession. We had our picture taken by a bystander after my camera died.
When the pix were finally emailed to me...I was devestated. I smoked 2 packs a day, ate like there was no tomorrow, and it showed!
This guy had no idea how much of an impact he'd made on my life because I physically looked like I'd "checked out" and stopped caring a long time ago! But that wasn't the case!
That day I began the Couch to 5K running program from coolrunning.com and have been making permanent changes in my health and welfare ever since.
Why I Love It:
I love doing something that will mold, sculpt, and push me towards all of the best things that life has to offer.
Being confident in my appearance creates a ripple-effect in other areas of my life: my business, my family, everything!
And besides, how GREAT do you feel after a muscle-burning, fat-kicking, good ol' fashioned workout? Hello!
How I Stay Motivated:
I have a written set of goals I keep on the wall next to my mirror. I look at them daily.
I keep my fitness gear in plain site so I can constantly look at it and long to put it back on and do more.
I know what I want and how far I've come. Nothing's holding me back but me and I'm getting the hell outta my own way! :)

This was taken at a business meeting. My skin is so full of all that bodyfat that it looks like I'm about to explode out of it. This was the beginning of my recognition that things needed to change.
I think my smile says more than the scale ever could.

Goal (Long):
I will not stop so close to the finish line. I've got 5 pounds left to lose in order to meet my goal weight.
I have started seeing a lot more definition in my muscles and have ramped up my resistance training program to ensure that happens.
I will update my profile pic at the end of November and I WILL SEE changes in my body. Woohoo!
Regardless of obstacles that would've made even the toughest men buckle, she hasn't let anything stop her from attaining her goals! She makes me wanna work harder and more diligently!
So for the umpteenth night in a row, I finish dinner...and 45 minutes later I'm starving. Not like "I could eat". I mean ravenous. Like I missed dinner or something.
My dh and I started the Paleo Diet, kinda like a caveman diet. We're looking at it from a scientific angle...
So sorry for your loss! You def are in my prayers girl! I was told yesterday my cousin's husband has 3-6 months to live and my fav Uncle is dieing too! Hang in there!! God Bless!
Hey gorgeous!! The inspection was great! Only thing they found was the smoke detector needed a new battery! It's now a done deal...closing will be Dec. 5th! So how are you doing? How's training?
Thanks a bunch! Kiddos are doing well. I am working from home today, and we all went outside at lunch today to plant some fruit trees. They had a good time, but now I think they are expecting apples, peaches, plums, and pears on the trees in the next few weeks!
Slowed a bit d/t some nasty depression, but hopefully I'll be back full force soon... Glad to hear you are hitting your goal hard! That's awesome! Have a great day!
Hey gorgeous! Good to hear from you!! How's your training coming along? I've been tied up with the house...sold it on Sunday contingent on the inspection which is this afternoon...so hopefully I can get my life back and not be tied to my phone and showing the home all day long!! Have a FAB day!!
Hi Rachel! Just trying to keep up with all of the happens in the Desert! I'm glad you stopped by. I don't have any great news other than I am lifting strong. Whats up with you and your book?
Rachel, that rocks! You know I have a few friends that just might be interested in your book and info. I will pass it on to them. Thanks for keeping me updated! Luv to see one of our own doing something very worthwhile!
Nothing like DOMS to make you feel alive! My home is surrounded by fairly tall hills 200-300 meter elevation changes, so I spend hours hiking a week. Needless to say it is my favorite exercise and favorite way to de-stress! You are not just an exceptional mom from the physical aspect, but for the outstanding example of what fitness is all about too. And, thanks for the pic comment.
Although busy here in the desert, my workouts are productive! Right now I am just happy to be able to get training in short and heavy. Running I do plenty of here, so I am never short on cardio work!
I eat a lot of protien. 200 grams of chicken, 200 grams of beef and 200 grams of fish everyday. So it is very hard to be hungary on that amount of food. Especially here in the hot desert. There is no doubt heat curtails the appetite.
