When I Started:
Dec, 2005
How I Started:
I’ve battled with weight my entire teen years and when I hit my 20s I went the wrong way about dieting, I started with pills, starving myself… you name it. I wanted to join the military but I was 55 lbs over the maximum weight for my height!! That was my wake up call. I joined a local gym and started working out, my mother started helping me by cutting back on the “good stuff” that I used to love….LOL. Made it into the Army and fitness became a part of everyday life. But soon after I got out the weight snuck up on me again; I gained 32 lbs back, I had to put a stop to it, so I got back on track Dec 05 and have enjoyed the journey thus far.
Why I Love It:
I love working out because of the way I feel inside out when working out. I am doing this for me and no one else, I only have one body and I am obligated to take care of it. Working out helps me do that.
How I Stay Motivated:
I stay motivated by keeping my fat pictures around (to scare myself…LOL) especially at my office (my screen saver is my fat picture)whenever I get tempted to snack on junk, I look at my picture at 184 lbs and I hear myself saying “that is a quick way to look like that again”…LOL
BB Accomplishments:
Lost and kept off 54 lbs the first time around. Kept the extra 32 lbs off for the past year +.
Won the Army hooah lifting competition (1) 3rd place (2 times) 2nd place and (2 times) 1st place.
1st place local gym Female leg press competition 325 lbs pressed 127 times.
4th place local gym Female leg press competition 450 lbs pressed 57 times.

I was fat and happy...LOL, but unless I have 6 kids back to back, I never want to get that big again :)
I placed 10th in my first figure show after lossing 62 lbs, I am proud of me :) I am hooked on figure now... LOL
Goal (Long):
Compete! I want to get ripped and compete for the rest of my life...lol. I’ve lost over 62 lbs and have kept it off for a while now. I would like to transform my body into a work of art and become a better example to everyone around in terms of healthy living, get my pro card, and enter into the fitness modeling industry this year.
What is the one tip you would give somebody who is just getting started?
Get a trainer or someone who know's their way around the gym. Start slow, you are not going to turn to a superman over night, this is a marathon and not a race. Read. What mistakes did you make when you first started working out?
thanks, I feel I should have placed higher only because the other girls had no legs, they were tooth pics, but what can you do, i'm still happy w/ the results:)
pics are coming soon:) I pigged out over the weekend but now I'm back to my routine...somewhat, lol. I'm taking a week off from the gym though, I have some injuries that need to heal a little.
you know something, I may do the Arnold too, since I'm moving to Ga my hubby's family is 45 min from columbus OH, we will see after this comp. That would be great if we can go into this together:)
I'm more than excited, the rush you get when you step out on stage...WOW. I won't even mind if I don't place, its the fact that I have never looked this good, and I'm proud of myself for getting to this point, even for the other shows I didn't look as good, I would have to say this is the best I've looked EVER!
2 boy and girl one turns 7 in march the other just turned 8:) yeah, rethink thst whole eating thing, your worked your butt off to get to where your at now.
if your meaning you weight...my oly suggestion to you is eat healthy, I made the biggest mistake and I packed on alot of weight when I was pregnant thinking...oh, I'm pregnant, I have an excuse to eat, I could down a large pizza by myself:( I know sad, isn't it.
oh why thank you:) well that just sucks you being back over there, for how much longer? Are you going to plan another comp? Me, after this one I'm giving it a break for awhile, we are PCSing to either Benning or Jackson so I need a break for that:)
