Parents took me when i was 12 to work out with them. I hated it. But lets just say im addicted to it now :)
Why I Love It:
Because long ago, i first walked into the gym as a 5'10 120lb weakling and every waking day im getting closer to being a 6'5 265lb'er
How I Stay Motivated:
Because a 5 plate deadlift is beckoning at me, saying ill never be able to lift him. Ill prove the iron wrong
BB Accomplishments:
Strict pressing 1 plate and a quarter, Benching 2 plates -with pl set up but who cares-, Deadlifting 4 plates and a quarter, one arm dumbbell push pressing a 90lb dumbbell
Forum Signature:
275lb atg front squat / 235lb paused bench (in comp) / 445lb Conventional Deadlift using mixed grip/chalk/belt (in comp) / Deadlift-425x3 using a hook grip + chalk / BP low-bar back squat 335x2 & 315x4 & 350x1 (in comp)
A tree with a thin trunk can only make branches so big -me
Won 1st place at my first powerlifting comp!!!!!!!! Yea!!!!!!1
I want ppl to know I workout even when I have a shirt on.
Goal (Long):
My goal is to get as strong as I possibly can, naturally. When I started I was incredibly weak, doing dumbbell flyes with only 10lb for instance. I have come a long way since then and I strive to go further. Every year I look back at how I used to look and am always suprised at how much better, bigger, and stronger I got. This is what keeps me going.
I personally cannot imagine how coach potatoes let themselves be. Fat, and weak, hating to get up and do any kind of work. I am going to go in the complete opposite direction, I love getting stronger, love the endorphin rush after a good workout, love a heavy deadlift pr running up my thighs..
My short-ish term goals right now are to deadlift 4 plates, bench 245lb, and get my front squat to 275lb.
My advice to you is when you are in these kinds of facilities, use chalk and use it liberally. Defy the laws and stand up for America. "America? But what does chalk and commercial gyms have to do with this great country?" If we use chalk, and I mean loads of chalk, these gyms will be forced to...
I know what you mean when you start off really weak. The one thing that i know has helped me get stronger is protein after my workouts. You probably already take it but just in case!
Hey homie, I'm doing pretty good..had an alpha workout yesterday at the gym with some of my boyz. I feel like crap today though haha..
What have you been up to?
Why's it gotta be an "old man" crack? Then again, I've been known to point out to new Marines that I'm twice their age - as I proceed to tap them out on the mat because they weren't paying attention to technique ;)
