I was never happy with who I was. I was never extremly over weight but I was the chubbier athletic type. I have always loved being athletic and going a gym seemed like a great way to get into better shape.
The first time I got seriously into was probably when my boyfriend and I joined our current gym together. My boyfriend was very into fitness at the time that we met and I believe he helped get me into the gym.
I have been a memeber of Gold's for 4 years now. I have always been into weight lifting but never really ate that clean. Just over this past year I have discovered the secrets of diet and haven't looked back.
With my conitnued dedication to my workouts and now my dedication to my clean diet, I want nothing but to make the best of my body and health.
Why I Love It:
I feel so good after a workout. I love the feeling of the my muscles at work and knowing that I really pushed myself to the max. I think that fitness is something that I can really expand on. There is so much to learn and so many different ways to go about it. I love learning and trying new things to push my body to its fullest.
Taking the plunge and entering my first competition was one of the greatest things I could ever have done. It taught me so much about myself. I have learned that I have great discipline, dedication, drive, focus, will and strength. It allowed me to really look at my life and the things that I am passionate about. I now know that change is something I should embrace and not fear.
Since my competition I have made a big change. I've decided to make a career change and go after what it is I love and am most passionate about. Starting this September I will be going back to school and taking Exercise Science. I want to be a personal trainer. I want to help, inspire, motivate and encouarge others. This is my goal. This is my dream.
How I Stay Motivated:
I strongly believe in setting goals. I think they are a great thing to help keep someone motivated.
Something that I have learned is that you need to visualize these goals. Know what you want... see what you want... and reach for it.

This was taken at my college athletics awards banquet. I was working out then, had lost quite a bit of weight and feeling good. However, I have changed a lot since then! :)
Just competed in my first competition where I placed 5th out of 11 girls. I caught the bug and am now working on building muscle until I decide to compete again!
Her dedication and knowledge of fitness is outstanding. She doesn't let anything get in the way of her goals and works hard every single minute to reach them. She is also a great motivator and always knows what to say to brighten your day and keep you on track.
That and she always has abs!
thanks girl! yes! move on, now working hard to build some mean muscles for my next comp! lol. my trainer felt horrible, kind of a crappy situation. but oh well. so hows training going for you? do you have a next comp lined up?!
