When I Started:
Mar, 2009
How I Started:
My twin sister began a 10 week challange at our local gym to lose weight. I had always wanted to join, but lacked motivation. I had always wanted to gain substantial amounts of muscle and so I joined shortly after. I've been at it for just about three months.
Why I Love It:
I love pushing myself past my limits, lifting weights, and challanging myself. I love to see the results.
How I Stay Motivated:
I see my personal trainer, who is also a bodybuilder and tell myself I may someday look that way.
BB Accomplishments:
I've lost some weight thus far and upped my weight of each muscle by about 10 - 20 lbs.

"You talk about your revolutions, Oh that's fine! But what are you going to be doing come the time? Are you going to be the big man with the Tommy Gun? You speak of freedom as the blood begins to run. I don't want your revolutions, I want anarchy and peace" - Crass
Just while you're focused on seeing muscle growth remind yourself that you don't want any muscle injuries. High weight low rep is the holy land, but too much weight too quickly is the fastest way to sideline yourself for a few months. All things in moderation, even weights.
absolutely not. you'd have to eat over 3,500 your b.m.r.. your b.m.r. is probably around 1,600. so, you'd have to eat 5k or whatever it is. that would include no cardio.
hmm...i have a feeling the sudden increase in food just shocked your system into holding water.
are you close to your period, as well? =S
oh, it was terrible. it was mostly muscle that had taken a lot of hard work and eating to gain. all because of overtraing, i've learned my lesson though.
atta girl! but hmm...2 lbs of pure fat = 7,000; ... are you sure about that? =S it's probably water weight/sodium retention/bloat.
try to find a nice herbal supplement to help flush your system clean. =)
...or just give it time. xD
heh...we just gotta re-focus; that's all. i kinda hit rock bottom. i've had enough of the binging. it's finally out of my system & am starting to get back on track. my goals are too important. & it's not even about the calories. it's the mental anguish that comes w/ it. & the sugar is starting to affect my skin, adrenal glands, mood, etc
thanks for your confidence. it just seems like there are as many, maybe more canadians on this site as there are americans. how recent is that avi pic???
i'm so sorry and i can certainly understand. i'm just starting back after having a pinched nerve in my neck and i did exactly the same thing. i pretended like it didn't hurt until it got so bad i couldn't move.
Personally I push the 3-5 rep method but that requires heavier weight. 6-8 should be fine, just remember if you can do 8 easy you should step it up 2.5-5lbs. The key to building muscle is to push it, if you're tossing around 25lbs like it's nothing then you're also doing nothing for your muscles aside from some minor toning.
And of course you're working the high weight low rep route right? The low weight high rep is purely for toning or training children...and no worries about the delay, I'm on here so sporadically it's ridiculous. Just keep training and remember diet is KEY, not just calorie intake but what those calories are composed of.
