Personal Info And Background:
Real Name:
Kyle
Sex:
Male
Age:
27
Location:
Houston, Texas, United States
Occupation:
YMCA Floor Trainer / AFTA Personal Trainer
Personal Website:
Gym:
Bally's Total Fitness and/or YMCA
Gym Location:
Houston/Katy
When I Started:
Apr, 2004
How I Started:
*(April 1st 2004)* I woke up and weighed myself in at a "FAT" 297lbs and barley squeezing into a 48" inch waist pair of pants. I was tired all the time and could barley run anywhere in fact I even hated walking. I was sloppy and gross!
"WOW I WAS A HUGE, GROSS, SLOPPY FAT ASS!"
That day I joined the Y.M.C.A. and started weight-ifting only to build my arms and chest up, thinking I could never loss the FAT weight because I was genetically supposed to be a fat!
Then one day out the blue remember bumping into an old friend (Jerry) who was huge (227lbs) his whole life and was now a (188lb) lean, mean, muscle machine. He proved to me that it's not genetics that keeps us down it’s our inner will to control our eating and training, he was a real inspiration to me! Much respect "JERRY"!
Not a day has gone by where I don’t remember how close I came to a point of no return. I will never go back there again for anything!!!!!

"There is suffering in life, and there are defeats. No one can avoid them. But it's better to lose some of the battles in the struggles for your dreams than to be defeated without ever knowing what you're fighting for."
Why I Love It:
"The colossal misunderstanding of our time is the assumption that insight will work with people who are unmotivated to change. Communication does not depend on syntax, or eloquence, or rhetoric, or articulation but on the emotional context in which the message is being heard. People can only hear you when they are moving toward you, and they are not likely to when your words are pursuing them. Even the choices words lose their power when they are used to overpower. Attitudes are the real figures of speech."

"You need to write your own destiny. And if you don’t achieve what you want, maybe it is your fault, and nothing else. Take a look in the mirror. Maybe your definition of hard work isn’t universal. Ultimately, if you want something, go get it. That’s it. No one receives a handbook at birth that lists what we are capable of achieving. There will always be critics and naysayers who take comfort in seeing you fail. It helps them to accept their own failure (ie. at least I’m not the only one who didn’t make it). Stay away from these dream snatchers, but realize that they are in every city in this world. Shut them up with action. It works better than any other form of communication." ~Ross Enamait

"Self-respect is the fruit of discipline; the sense of dignity grows with the ability to say no to oneself."

"The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly; it is dearness only that gives everything its value. I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress and grow brave by reflection. 'Tis the business of little minds to shrink; but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death." ~ THOMAS PAINE

"It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power."

"No person is your friend who demands your silence, or denies your right to grow."
How I Stay Motivated:
"Courage, it would seem, is nothing less than the power to overcome danger, misfortune, fear, injustice, while continuing to affirm inwardly that life with all its sorrows is good; that everything is meaningful even if in a sense beyond our understanding; and that there is always tomorrow." ~Dorothy Thompson:

"One needs something to believe in, something for which one can have whole-hearted enthusiasm. One needs to feel that one's life has meaning, that one is needed in this world." ~ Hannah Senesh

"You are not what you were born, but what you have it in yourself to be."

Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get it and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done! Now if you know what you're worth then go out and get what you're worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain't you! You're better than that! I'm always gonna love you no matter what. No matter what happens. You're my son and you're my blood. You're the best thing in my life. But until you start believing in yourself, ya ain't gonna have a life.
BB Accomplishments:
I lost 120+ pounds in 2004...
I have gained alot of muscle this past year 2006 now it's time to cut and see the results of all this lifting!
I cut donw to 10% BF and weighed in at 183 pounds, but I felt like shit and looked good only! I hated it! So I started eating again and I bulked to 210, Now I have cut down to 195 and like 12% but I wanna drop the last BF to hit 190 and 8%BF by this August of 2007!

Rocky Balboa: “Cause if you're willing to go through all the battling you got to go through to get where you want to get, who's got the right to stop you? I mean maybe some of you guys got something you never finished, something you really want to do, something you never said to someone, something... and you're told no, even after you paid your dues? Who's got the right to tell you that, who? Nobody! It's your right to listen to your gut, it ain't nobody's right to say no after you earned the right to be where you want to be and do what you want to do!...”
Forum Signature:
"What we do in life, echoes in eternity."

Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great. ~Mark Twain

Patience these days seems to be in such short order, and it amazes me that so many are in such a rush to get to the end rather then enjoy the journey. One thing bodybuilding has taught me is that time, consistency, and patience are the only true constants in life.

been going good, doing lots of cardio, and some new circuts, my sparing partner is lazy though, and never wants to train so that sucks, but I'll find some one with the same drive as me and it will all be good, how's things on your end?
