How I Started:
I started working out back in 2002-2003 and got really slender but not very muscular or lean. I lost too much weight and looked sickly. I then stopped working out for awhile and put on some weight. I got back down again in 2005 and built some muscle and was really happy with where I was at that point, but then went through a really hard emotional time and put on some weight again and could not get it off no matter what I tried. After a really low point I had to pick my life up again and start over and while in Iraq began getting into working out again and slowly the excess weight started coming off. Now I'm trying to get lean and muscular and compete in Figure.
UPDATE: Got sick and couldn't work out nearly as much. Now I feel like I'm "skinny fat", getting back into the gym and try to avoid getting sick like last time. So basically starting all over again.
Why I Love It:
I enjoy working out b/c I feel good afterwards and like the benefits of being healthy. I had to educate myself on exercise and eating healthy b/c I used to be very ignorant to it all.
How I Stay Motivated:
I stay motivated by the desire to be healthy and fit. It helps when I see the women in Oxygen that are not super skinny like some models but are so fit and strong. I like that look. I also stay motivated b/c I need to be healthy, fit and strong for my job. I also like being better than the guys I work with :)
Today was a good day in the gym. I'm on week 2 of the 12 week transformation guide. It's been a little difficult to balance everything because on top of trying to do the 12 week workout, I still have to workout with my unit. Sure it may seem likeĀ a good thing b/c it is twice the workout, but...

I do have help with a online personal trainer shes based in NYC so she sends me a diet and gym programme I guess the rest is me working and training hard and following her gym programme. Me and her will be in world physique an american fitness magazine in early October.
Im glad to hear your doing well, Im pretty excited and nervous aswell I still need to lean out some more and the diet is pretty hard But im managing to hang in there .
