Oct. 1998 - Fat and heavy, 185 lbs., went on major diet, lost 50 lbs. by Dec. 1999. Kept it off for 4 years then started progressively gaining fat in 2004. Nov. 2005 I started training for a triathlon. March 2007 - got hit by a car on my bike, lost my job, and stopped training.
Why I Love It:
I don't love working out. I love doing things that keep me outdoors and having fun, that also keep me in shape. I hate being in a stuffy gym. Give me my bike and an open road and I'm happy:-)
How I Stay Motivated:
Seeing changes in my performance and body are the main motivations. When I started commuting by bike to work, then went on a Sat. morning group ride where I was able to hang with the big-boys at 22mph for an hour, that was motivation for me to keep going.
BB Accomplishments:
None. Not interested in body-building as competition so much as just as a lifestyle.

low-carb, Atkin's. Depending on my energy and overall fitness levels into my training, I may need to add whole-grains a little earlier in the plan.
