I wasn't very active until a couple of years after college when I decided to complete a marathon. Ever since, I've been hooked and have also incorporated weight training and spin classes to my routine. I also like to mountain bike, camp, and hike, but am a true running geek at heart.
Why I Love It:
I love the endorphins from cardio, the adrenaline rush from weights, the cool people at the gym, and knowing I was already productive for a couple hours before I go to work since I'm usually there by 5:30 a.m.
How I Stay Motivated:
Because it's plain addicting!
BB Accomplishments:
No real bodybuilding experience, though I've ran a few marathons, half-marathons, and love what it does for the aesthetics of my body. An ex-bodybuilder told me I had calves that most women would kill for, so maybe in the future?...

Tri's getting stronger, and special guest Buddha is raising the roof in my honor! Unfortunately, it also looks like I have a Buddha belly from trying to flex :)
For the C3 Challenge (April - June):
1) Run 80 miles in April, and then 100 miles in May and June, and bike 100 miles each month (probably 120 in April thanks to my obsession with 4's ). I'm currently running 60 miles/month (probably 70+ by end of this month), biking 100+.
2) Trixter constantly designs workouts that I'm very fond of (at least after the fact!), so I'm going to stick with upper body weights at least 2x a week and legs 1x a week (alternating cardio days with weights days). The goal is to do 1 unassisted pull-up by the end of C3, though I'm not gonna lie - I would love to bicep curl 25 lb. db's and use the 30 or 35 lb. barbell for skullcrushers by the end! Right now I'm doing most exercises (shoulder presses, bicep curls, tricep extensions) with 17.5 db's comfortably, though back, chest, and legs are stronger (80 lbs. for upright row, 60 lb. chest press, 50 lb. booty kickbacks, 180 leg press, etc.).
3) Diet of 50% carbs, 30% protein, 20% fat, though carbs will probably higher for the day or so before a long run. Keep it as unprocessed as possible (protein's the biggest challenge, since I'm a pescatarian and allergic to whey (I've recently learned!)).
4) Currently 120-121, so if I could drop 5 pounds that would be awesome, but I'm more concerned with dropping bf% - I'm thinking 14-15% is realistic (about a 3-4% drop? I'm going to take stats and pics on Sunday), though 12-13% is most ideal.
Thank you for your wonderful well wishes, everyone! Sorry I've been MIA, but this week posed a couple of challenges for me, the first and foremost being that I finally told my roommate that I wanted to move out (something I've wanted to do for awhile, but I have a hard time saying no or...
Your right, that is a trippy story....but also one I can relate to!! Not necessarily in this situation, but in another I will save for a rainy day! LOL!
I would describe my belief the same way...a mix of this, a smidge of that. A mutt of beliefs!
Thank you for your insight....I loved it!
Today was a track interval day. I'm slower than I'd hope to be. Oh well. I love the amazing race. The daughter of last season's father daughter Asian team was a Princeton Grad. I'd love to race that with my daughter.
I always loved running... it was something you could do by yourself, and under your own power. You could go in any direction, fast or slow as you wanted, fighting the wind if you felt like it, seeking out new sights just on the strength of your feet and the courage of your lungs.
LOL - maybe he does think my name is "Bud". :) ...but we have to wear name badges at work for security - unless he's nearsighted, he should be able to read it. :)
Hey sweetie sorry it's taken me so long to reply. Had some personal issues going on that needed my attention. Training partner is still kicking my butt! Someone has too.
Your brick workouts sound so hard core -- I'm very impressed. I did my first swim/bike combo workout last week -- it's the only way to get enough workouts in a busy schedule.
As for the pics of the tri suit -- I'm still working on the fit a bit. I'll get there soon.
I am sad to say that I have been sidelined for a little while. I think I am suffering from a hernia. It might be 6 to 8 weeks before I can train again. UGH! Guess I had better to progress pics soon.
