I love supplements! That doesn't mean I find them necessary, but It would be stupid to avoid their practicality and versatility.
NOW Ultra omega 3 caps are my addition to almost every meal. Cheap, with a great percentage of pure EPA & DHA. I loved the NOW DHA 500 caps before bb.com quit selling them.
I hate water and have to force myself to drink it (guess what, I have no issuses with thirst during precontest dehydration). That's why I always look for strong tasting amino formulas. I us as little powder in lots of water, just to hydrate my body throuhout the day with water that tastes like...something. The VPX Power shock is my current favorite. MP Amino 1 is on it's way, and we'll see what happens after I try it.
I buy quality protein powders. Currently, there's a 5 lbs ON Gold french vanilla creme on my menu which I bought for a bargain. It's the only flavor I liked from ON by now. Their chocolate flavor suck, if you ask me and I usually don't buy ON.
My first choices are Dymatize Iso100 and Ultimate Iso sensation 93. A true combo of quality and taste.
I love preworkouts too. Since there's a vast choice on the market, I can go both for ingredients and taste. Why is taste important? If I wanted to buy just effective ingredients, I'd buy the powders separately in builk. And then, probably, drink the stuff with the eyes and nose shut and wanna puke in the middle of my workout.
I find drinking a preworkout more of a ritual before training, something that would additionally relax me and give me the complete sensation of satisfaction. The taste should be pleasing and easy on the stomach. It shouldn't in any way interfere with the workout! The stimulant effect of the prew is something I can even do without, because my mindset is always on the motivated side and that's the only thing that counts.
Still, I must say, I really liked the SAN Launch 4350, bpi 1M.R. lemon, Pharma freak Ripped freak blue raspberry and I have the VPX friction ready for trying. The Cellucor C4 and Muscletech neurocore (both blue raz) were nice tasting but totally ineffective for me. I started drinking them as a occasional refeshement after some time... Driven sports Craze was so-so, both with taste and effectiveness.
Jack3d, the once bestseller, was ok in terms of effectiveness, but had a to weak taste. I just didn't enjoy it the way I expected...
