When I Started:
Feb, 2005
How I Started:
I wanted to return back into the military (till I started college again) and needed to get in shape. I was tired of my weight going up then droping a pound or two then raising up again. So I started using my sister and her husband's Bowflex since I was poor and it was free to use.
Why I Love It:
I love to workout to build strength and muscle tone so I can do my job at the hospital as well as play with my children.
How I Stay Motivated:
Originally I stayed motivated by staying more fit than those around me (family, friends, etc.) so they couldn't call me fat anymore. After I achieve something no one ever thought I could by graduating college I have been very motivated since then proving to myself I can do it.
BB Accomplishments:
Not much though my wife has paid me a few comments lately and been more attracted to me it seems.

I am smart enough to admit that I know nothing, which is why I know something. Thus the socratic confession.
I want to get in great shape to inspire family and co-workers to do the same.
Goal (Long):
I started out as a skinny kid (thanks to my father's genetics) about the time I got in my twenties I started getting over weight (my mother's genetics partly) I started eatting in the same manner as my over weight ex wife. I knew I needed a change so I started the process of getting back in shape which I did for the most part if you count getting skinny as healthy. Now I'm remarried and want to add some more muscle mass and become stronger for my children, my wife, and myself.
I was thinking about what fitness programs I have tired and which ones I saw the best results with for the time and money. Well first off I admit this is my thoughts and others are truly entitled to theirs.
With Bowflex I like the fact it was fairly easy to use and I could use it...
For people who need step-by-step instruction, P90X sounds great, but if you are ready to hit the gym with some serious traditional weight lifting, go for it!
So did you finish the PX90 stuff? You're really looking trim and sounding confident. Where do you want to go from here and how do plan on getting there? I'm just up the road from you, so let me know how I can support you, fellow Utahan.
