I have had severe diabetes all my life. My A1C level at least check was 11.3. I finally decided that if I wanted to feel better and live a full life then I would have to start making some changes. My doctors have never really been able to control my diabetes so I decided that I will have to do it myself. Working out and eating better seems to be the key so hopefully I will get in better shape and start feeling better.
Why I Love It:
So far it does seem to be helping to lower my blood sugars and I know I am definitely feeling some better , not as weak and tired as I used to be.
How I Stay Motivated:
I just tell myself that I am helping myself to live a better life plus the physical changes are not to bad either.

I would like to gain around 20 pounds by the first of the year.
Goal (Long):
I have always been underweight (in my opinion) and would like to get up to around 200 pounds. When I started lifting I weighed aroud 160-165 and at 6'0" I certainly looked thin. I can not gain weight simply by eating because of my diabetes and besides I do not want to be fat. I want to gain weight in muscle not fat and so far weight training is helping some. Also I am hoping that with a continued training program my diabetes will also gradually come under control.
Full body workout four days per week (Mon , Tues , Thurs , Fri). I use moderately heavy weights such as 170 for bench press , 90 for curls , 240 for squats ,90 for overhead press , 240 for leg extensions. I also vary the exercises for each muscle such as follows
Arms: curls , concentration curls...
Hi Mike, good morning. Not better yet but it's been so long it should be any day now!! At this point, I can't even talk (laryngitis). How are you doing?

LOL! Thanks, Mike. My secret is Phil Valenti from here on BB.com. He's training me online and has me doing a leg routine that seems to be helping. Thanks for noticing ;)
Thank you so much for all the nice and complimentary comments you made and ratings that you gave me on so many of my gallery pics recently. How generous of you!!
