Was always pretty athletic growing up and no injuries. But at 21 I completely ruptured my left Achilles tendon while playing basketball. Shortly after getting back into sports I dislocated my shoulder. My shoulder kept falling out of place and eventually it required surgery. A year later I had gained about 25 lbs. This was about June of 2007. Not having as good a conditioned body as I used to have, I am determined to be as fit as I can while staying injury free.
Why I Love It:
An escape from the rest of my world. And gives me a great sense of accomplishment that is achievable every single day. When you learn to be disciplined with working out you can learn to be disciplined in other areas of your life.
How I Stay Motivated:
Not wanting to fall back to where I started from.
BB Accomplishments:
Staying out of physical therapy and the operating room for 18+ months. Losing the 25-30 lbs I gained while injured.

What is the one tip you would give somebody who is just getting started?
Man, P - sorry to hear about the injuries etc., but one thing I learned is that it's better to sit out of training voluntarily for a couple of weeks than to be out involuntarily for months!
I'm doing great man, I really just need to spend a few days a week in cardio so I can complete the gains that I've been making. I'm not sure if these gains are as noticeable to everyone else, I just know that I feel so much better about myself.
Get well soon!
Paul...what's up man! Haven't heard from you in a bit. I'm doing GREAT. I'm actually at home (wish I was at the gym) but I have to prepare for tomorrow night (I'm preaching at the youth service), but the great news is that I also play in the band, too. So I'll most def burn some cals before I give the word to the people!
How's the training?
He he, you trying to keep the abs until the end of the summer and don't want to ruin it?
Thats understandable. Well, when you start what you trying to get up to?
Training is great. As much as I think I'm undertraining when I look at my days, I have a good balance of rest to training days and that makes me all the better. So you say you have trouble with your diet on weekends?
You aren't the only one, but then I look at one of the fat asses next to me. That then says to me, "maybe just maybe I shouldn't eat this doughnut. He ate it and look at him."
Then I run away in horror.
