How I Started:
I started bodybuilding because I wanted to be a hero not only to my girls, but to myself.
Why I Love It:
I am always the girl on the outside looking in. Bodybuilding helps me to believe in myself, be strong, beautiful, and an inspiration to others.
How I Stay Motivated:
To stay motivated, I push myself harder each and every workout. I listen to the encouraging words from my girls. I see the results in the mirror. But mostly, I believe in myself. That is something I never experienced before bodybuilding.

To make it through the month of November so I can continue the sculpting of my body for 2010!
Goal (Long):
I am more focused and am really pushing myself when I workout. I am not going to settle for just being in shape, I want to be amazing. I want to increase my weights, tighten up my thighs, and reduce my overall body fat. I am facing this goal with new vision!!
Weight Goal:
I want to LOSE 5 lb

What is your favorite "healthy" dessert? Give the recipe if applicable.
Being a pastry chef, I see a lot of desserts...so I am not interested in eating one. But when I do want something, I usually have lemon sorbet with two to three ginger snap cookies.

What type of nutrition plan are you currently following? Give full details.
I am currently following a clean-eating diet. I try to get a meal in at least every three to four hours for a total of five to six small meals a day. This also includes my protein shakes for my workouts. I eat lean meats, veggies, and the appropriate amount of carbs. I do have a cheat meal usually once a week and have to honestly say I do at times give in to one or two peanut M&M's when the craving hits. What tips would you give to others to help them stay motivated over the long-term?
I think it is important to set shor-term goals. This way you can see the progress you are making and want to do more. Also, put pictures of the body you would like to mimic up where you can see it to remind yourself to stay on track. Also words of inspiration help, and most important, the support and help of friends who are also fitness-oriented. I laugh...I survived the first week of my new training schedule even with the back pain. I thought getting up at the crack of dawn to do cardio would kill me, but actually I enjoy it. I like going to the gym this early because I can get into my zone and not worry about others around me talking...
TGIF, Gretchen! You do a lot of cardio, huh? I've actually tossed in a little extra cuz of the 40+ challenge, but hate it! lol Today was back/bis (my fave), Sat is delts/calves/HIIT, Sun is active rest (yard work!). Have a great weekend!

I'm good and the training is going great. Having a good off season. Still trying to hit 250 lbs. The Video clip was from a video I did for a up coming contest. It turned out ok. How have you been. When's the next contest?
