I started jogging on September of 2007. I decided that it was time for me to get off my behind and do something good for myself. I needed to loose weight and I decided that it was time for me to make a true commitment without trying yo-yo diets. In June 2008 I knew I had to start doing some weight training to tone up. Therefore I decided to join the gym. I figured a membership was less expensive than having to make visits to the doctor.
Why I Love It:
I love working out because its a way to challenge myself. Even on those days when I am tired and I just want to skip I know that the reward will be worth it such as increase in my self-esteem and confidence, and improving my health.
How I Stay Motivated:
I stay motivated by reading health magazines, and reading the articles in the supersite, I also love to read the transformation of the week! In addition, I try to surround myself with individuals that will encourage me and that can provide advice and information regarding my goals.
This was one of the pictures that made me realize how I'd blown up. I weighed 230lbs. It motivated me to stop making excuses and do something about the way I looked and felt!
My wakeup call came to me as I watched my graduation pictures. I was weighing 230lbs on my 5'3" frame. I want to be able to be proud of my body. So far I have managed to loose and maintain a loss of 56lbs within the last year, now come the last 40lbs. I also want to be able to tone and to reduce my body fat to 18% or less if possible. I think that if I continue to stay motivated I can do it. Hopefully I will have reached my goal by May 2009 in preparation to a major trip I have been planning!
