Diet alone is 80% of the equation. Yes you can lose weight. Just have a calorie deficit per week. 3500 cal burned more than you consume = 1 lb of fat. But to tone up, lift weights. Adding cardio also increases your metabolism and burns calories more. Depends on how much / how fast you want to lose.

Sorry for so many posts, but it only allows so many words...=/ -cont...so yes it stores it as fat for later. I do get cravings late @ night sometimes when I wake up to use the bathroom. I just remind myself I don't need to eat in order to sleep. If all else fails, I'll drink a glass of water or snack on a rice cake.

Now some people do get away eating carbs late, but they help burn it off with exercise. Your body goes into a catabolic state when you sleep so any food in it, pretty much doesn't get processed for energy to use (your asleep so your body doesn't need it) it gets stored...

Yes something like that. You should consume most of your carbs in the earlier part of the day. Even if you workout late. Say you had your last "snack" an hour before you lift, you'll still use those carbs, protein for energy to lift.

A good read is 6 Pack Abs in 6 Weeks by a Men's Health editor. I checked out of the local library, read the nutrition part and added it to all the info on the main BB.com site. It's all the same everywhere. Low Carb, Enough Protein to keep muscle...weight training, and cardio...Good Luck man.

To be honest my workouts range a lot. Sometimes I do them late as well, but I eat only protein to replenish my muscles, no carbs ( I don't need any for energy, b/c I usually goto bed within an hour from my workout ) What I've been told and read if you eat within 3 hrs of going to bed your 300% more likely to be overweight.

Yeah I do it twice a day. I like it better split up like that. You could do it all at one time. I started doing 40 mins a day. 20 in the morning / 20 evening, then increased every week until i get at least 60 mins + a day. My job I sit a lot so I'm not burning a lot of calories, hence doing so much cardio. Every other day (tues, thurs, sat) i do 20 mins of HIIT cardio in the morning.

Thanks man! Yes I do cardio and weight lifting. Cardio in the morning when I wake up (around 10-ish) lifting after work, then cardio in the evening. Once I lose more BF i'll cut down on the cardio. My diet consists of a low-carb high protein mix. Carbs early in morning, Protein all day, oh and good fats too (one serving)

Ya I do cardio in the morning when I wake up, lift in the evening after work, then cardio in the evening. I mixed in HIIT every other day. Once I cut my BF more I'll cut down on the cardio. Gotta do it so I can create that deficit...Thanks for support man!

Thanks! I'm getting there, slowly but surely. Trying so hard to get rid of the 1 inch of fat on my belly that's left.

Hey, if you don't mind could you give me an example? I currently lift 3 days a week. Mon, Wed, Thurs. Should I increase it to 5 days a week, concentrating more on individual parts each day and lower my cardio to what? My cardio is 6 days a week, mon, wed, fri- 60 min / sun, tues, thurs, 20 min HIIT and 30 min med. intensity. Thanks again man.

Thanks for the support and info, I've been trying to figure out how to get the rest of the "fat" to disappear. Last week I started drop-sets, using heavy weights. I notice some results. Thanks again!
