When I Started:
Jan, 2005
How I Started:
I quit smoking in 2000 and I started walking with a friend every morning so I did not gain a lot of weight, that was my worst fear! Then I got more and more into looking and feeling good. One of my friends owned a gym and was a trainer so I started working out with him Monday through Friday. I started to get some results and I decided that my BIG goal was going to be competing.
Why I Love It:
Whatever is going on in my life I can leave it all behind the second I walk through the doors of the gym. Being able to be "present" and have that mind to muscle connection is an amazing feeling!
How I Stay Motivated:
Staying around positive people, I avoid negativity like a plauge. My husband and my two teenage boys are always there to motivate me. My boys have been coming to the gym with me during summer break, they always push me to go "one more"
BB Accomplishments:
2009 NGA Mountain States Natural Bodybuilding and Figure Championships 3rd - Open Bodybuilding.
2009 NGA Northwestern Natural & Pro Atlas Bodybuilding & Figure Championshops 1st Heavyweight and 2nd Masters Bodybuilding.
2008 NPC Mile High Natural Bodybuilding and Figure 2nd Heavyweight Bodybuilding.
2008 ABA/INBA Rocky Mountian Colorado State Natural 1st Novice bodybuilding and 2nd Masters Bodybuilding.
This was taken when I just started lifting at the gym. I was not "over weight" but real soft with no muscle. I felt horrible and wanted to challenge myself.
This was taken on my 39th birthday and 11 days before my bodybuilding competetion, NGA Boise May 2, 2009. I placed 1st in heavy weight and 2nd in Masters.
Continue competing in natural bodybuilding, and to win overall.
Goal (Long):
I love competing and most of all I love being on stage. I am tall (5'9") so I have to have a lot of muscle to compete agains other women who are shorter with short muscle belly. My next show is an NPC in Denver on October 24th and I know that I will be ready by staying focused and disciplined with my food and workouts.
