When I Started:
Sep, 2008
How I Started:
I started back in 2001, I was rail thin compared to now but ripped, and I had a big frame and big bones, so I still looked bigger than other average men. My friend started working out and he got bigger than me, my ego couldn't let that happen so I started working out. I went from a skinny 165 to a buff 190 in about 3 months. After that I was getting lots of compliments and let it get to my head. I slowly stopped working out, and I didn't go back to my skinny self again, I was inactive, and got fat. Then I started again last year, I miss my lean frame, I felt so much better being that light. The big bulky phase was nice for a while but it got old, cant fit into normal clothes, slow, and uncomfortable. I got up to 230 pounds benching 350 last year, but I was living in KY, nothing better to do but lift. I moved back up to Philly, and I slacked once again, getting fat. Now I want to be lean like my old days but more ripped, and strong.
Why I Love It:
It's a high like no other.
How I Stay Motivated:
Even though I may relapse a few times, I stay motivated by tracking my progress and always try to do better than previous accomplishments.

Message to all people that wants to know how i lost the weight and info on how to reach your goals read my page please. I received hundreds of messages on how I did it, and I'm getting tired of writing a novel a hundred times, so this is much easier. Forget the gimmicks on tv, except for P90X, lol. they just want your money. I'm speaking from experience and for the first time in life, I'm speaking from the heart and not from the brain, and I must say it feels good to let it all out. I actually cried for the first time in years while writing this, because a big part of the struggles I've been dealing with in my life is because one of my coping mechanisms is instead of dealing with my emotions, I'll let it build up and hold all of my emotions inside, and lash out at everybody, including the people that care about me. I have been a selfish, self-centered, self-absorbed, arrogant, egotistical, conceited, angry individual, that didn't listen to anyone and couldn't be told shit. I didn't care about anybody but myself. No matter how good someone's exterior looks, if their interior is shitty, then it don't even matter. When your insides our ugly, it makes you look ugly on the outside... People never got a chance to really ever know me because I didn't let them, but now I'm finally starting to open up and come out my shell. Developing my mind is going to be a much slower process than my dramatic weight loss results, I accept that and I know it won't happen overnight. Im 26 years old now and not 16 anymore, and I think it's time for a change... OK enough about that, let's focus at the task at hand. I've been informing myself and reading and watching educational tv programs on how the body operates for the last 7 years so I know what I'm talking about. I figure that I have to live in this body 24/7 for the rest of my life, and I believe that a part of knowing who you are, is knowing how you operate. I don't know it all, but I know alot about this stuff, and I continue to learn more, I'm not perfect, and my routine isn't perfect, but I know what works for me, and it's all about finding a formula that works for you! i changed my diet drastically in the beginning. I had to do this because it been along time since my insides had a bath, and i had to rid it of all the junk, and it took about a month to do so. In order to experience true results, you have to clean out your system first. I ate real clean, i cut out drinking alcohol for 1 month that was my main problem and all fast food, i used to eat and drink in excess. by eating clean i mean, chicken breast no skin, whole grain wheat bread, hamburger meat with fat all drained out fruits and vegetables. etc etc. i also bought a cheap fiber mix from walmart to clean out my colon because i felt all clogged up and bloated. If you are irregular and feel sluggish it's because u have pounds of shit trapped in you, and those are toxins in traveling through ur blood stream. i also take a daily multi vitamin, and omega-3 fish oils is good for u. Take a protein shake, u can get sum powder from Gnc or online however you want. Quick tip, it's much cheaper online. Since you are going to be cutting your calories a lot more in the beginning, you need the extra protein to retain any muscle that you may have. Remember, muscle burns fat while you are not working out, so the more muscle you have, u turn your body into a fat burning machine, and burn fat 24 hours a day! even while sleeping! i also was retaining alot of water because of the beer and sodium intake. once i cut all that stuff out for a month and started p90x, i saw results in like 2 weeks, i lost like 20 pounds of excess water weight, and my blood pressure went down. not only did i look better i felt better too. after a month i started drinking again but only in moderation, and started eating any food i wanted still no fast food but in moderation. right now my body is working how its supposed too, i have so much energy and my metabolism is so fast, that i can eat pretty much anything i want, including fast food, and it just slides off and out of my system. I cleaned out my body, re-wired it and now it's working how it's supposed to. Our bodies wasn't made to carry excess fat, that is why there are so many problems associated with obesity. Drink alot of water throughout the day! Your body is 80% water so feed it what it craves the most next to air. Don't force your body to work extra hard to draw water from other liquids such as soda, which also has caffeine in it which de-hydrates you, and makes ur retain on to more water. Water retention is a good sign your body doesn't drink enough water. What your body does is store the water because it thinks you are trying to dehydrate yourself. Key point is water pushes water. The more water you drink, the more it pushes out the excess water you are carrying. i know longer get tired after i eat bad, and dont feel bad when i eat bad because i know a calorie is a calorie, as long as u burn more calories throughout the day than what ur eating. there is much more i can tell u but it would take all day. Just search the internet man. Everything I learned about losing weight was from the internet. Go to yahooanswers. That is a good site to search for questions and answers that are similar to yours, not just with weight loss, and also, you can ask a question yourself, and people with personal experience like me and you will answer. and use search engines to find out information on bodybuilding.com. it is a good site, its a site where everyone is trying to transform there body and they put up progress pics, etc. and there's info on everything u need to know on how to transform ur body, and much more. good luck with ur transformation. The mind is a powerful thing, and if u believe u can do it u can. It's all about stickin with it and not give up. For me it almost took me 3 months to reach my goal. Some people has to do 2-3 cycles of P90x to get where they wanna be. For you it might take a year. Just stay consistent and you'll get there. Another thing, the key is moving, if u take a step back and analyze skinny people and people in good shape, they are hyperactive and always moving, they dont necessarily have to work out, they can be doing anything, cleaning, parking far away from the store instead of close so they can walk further, take the stairs instead of elevator, etc. little things like that. Overweight people, overeat and never move, and they keep gaining, it's as simple as that. The older you get the slower your metabolism gets, and the less calories your body burns per day. Even if you keep your routine the same you'll gain weight. To maintain or even get better with age, you have to step up your workouts each year, so everything evens out. So basically get P90x, do it for 90 days. It's like $120 maybe even cheaper, but it's well worth it. Inform yourself, search and absorb as much info about it. Knowlege is power. Know it's not a diet, it's a way of life, i know u tried every diet in the book and they aint work, so why continue to do them? Start off small and u will gradually work your endurance and stamina up to places you never imagine. Failure is progress. Learn from your mistakes and get better everytime you bounce back. If you feel lazy on everything on 1 or 2 days or even a week no big deal, your body needs time to recover or u won't progress. don't turn it to a month to a year. get right back on, and never give up!!!
I was going into my sophomore year of college. I was about 165 lbs, maybe a little less. I used to run track in high school but the community college that I went to didn't have track. I wasn't playing sports, nor have I worked out. My metabolism was still very fast because I couldn't put on any weig ...
