Overall Goal: My goal at this time is to complete cardio...because it's the last thing I want to do out of my routine (as well as the most tricky b/c of my allergies.)
Fit Status:
Back from the gym, had egg-white shake...first time...it really does taste pretty good. lol. Shower
I have constantly struggled with my body. When I was in Middle School I began binging and reached 130lbs, then as my sister went through an anorexia-stage, I began to feel bad about my body, although I was "normal weight". I began to exercise excessively and stopped eating. After about a year I had lost all the weight and was pushing 95lbs with not enough fat on me to have a period.
Two years later, after hospitalizations, I have returned to the Binge-Eating-Disorder behaviors and gained back the weight. I'm unhappy about my body, again! This time I want to do it right, and end this war at last.
Why I Love It:
Throughout my entire life I have been weak and I have felt weak. Finally eating foods that I'm not allergic to and doing free weights, I have felt unbelievable energy and strength. I often wonder how I managed to feel good before now.
How I Stay Motivated:
Sometimes I think - why "wouldn't I want to do this" and just think of some frivolous reason: "I don't want to get up in the morning, it's not working faster." If I just notice how shallow all of these excuses are - its all the motivation I need.
Once I get in the gym - I get "in the zone." Often I try and go at certain times of day, to stay around people who are positive and encouraging.
BB Accomplishments:
Although they may not be "professional body-building accomplishments" (for example contests) I've been able to stop binging, become about 3x stronger, gain 12lbs of lean mass while maintaining weight, and get over depression and body-self-criticism (the best accomplishment of all.)
On the side, I figured out that my Exercise-Induced Anaphylaxis was aggravated by soy - a huge accomplishment that has made an enormous difference in my life.
Forum Signature:
When it comes to coping with things - It's all about concentrating really really hard on being distracted.

opeca64is inspired by MsFitFern. Reason: "She inspires me because she does what she wants and doesn't get stuck on worrying about other people think. :) Keep kicking it :D. "
My heart rate was about 60ish at the time the picture was taken, estrogen level was normal but I didn't have a period yet (and that's b/c I lost it, not just because I was young).
I don't really like this picture too much. I've noticed my pants are looser...it's annoying (still I have wide hips...ekk).
My goal at this time is to complete cardio...because it's the last thing I want to do out of my routine (as well as the most tricky b/c of my allergies.)
Goal (Long):
I want to develop a healthier lifestyle that not only incorporates both my physical health, but my mental, social, and emotional one as well.
Have you ever gone to the gym pumped and ready to go and suddenly you get there - and it seems like everyone in the free weight room is staring at you - or ambivalent - and down in the dumps? That was what happened to me yesterday!
It really bothers me when I'm working as hard as I can, and...
Body issues will always be with you. It's how you deal with them that matters. Sometimes I wake up feeling overweight and the next day I feel skinny. Just keep on doing the right things and everything will take care of itself. Good luck.
You have made a great step just by seeing the problem and doing something about it. This sport , with just a little determination will give you discipline, increase your selfesteem, better overall heath and of course a great body. Keep it up !!!
