****FYI: HEY GUYS, SORRY TO ALL OF YOU HOW WERE WORRIED ABOUT ME OF WHY IT TOOK SO LONG TO UPDATE ON HOW THINGS ARE COMING ALONG.
BY THE GRACE OF GOD, I GOT HOME, FORM IRAQ, SAFE AND SOUND. UNFORTUNATELY, HAD A COUPLE OF FAMILY AND HEALTH ISSUES/SCARES THAT I HAD TO DEAL WITH BUT IN ALL, THINGS ARE SMOOTHED OUT. PLUS, HAD SOME LIFE CHANGES WHICH SUDDENLY TAKE PLACE IN MY LIFE. SOME FOR THE BETTER....
I'M CURRENTLY RESIDING IN VIRGINIA AND WILL BE HERE FOR A WHILE DUE TO WORK; HELPED MY LIL SIS MOVE TO L.A. (THAT WAS CRAZY) AND I ENDED UP SPRAINNING THE HE** OUT OF MY ANKLE/INJURED MY SHOULDER (R), IN THE PROCESS TOO, WHEN I TRIPPED OVER MY CAT (YES IN THE DARK) THUS, FELL DOWN THE STAIRS. I CAN LAUGH AT IT NOW BUT WHEN I WAS GOING THROUGH THE ORDEAL... IT DIDN'T SEEM FUNNY! LOL
IN ALL, I ENDED UP NOT DOING THE URBANATHLON (HEY THERE'S ALWAYS NEXT YEAR BABY!) AND DUE TO MY ACCIDENT, I WAS ADVISED BY MY DOCTOR TO TAKE IT EASY. SO YES, I HAVE GAINED SOME WEIGHT TO THE LACK OF EXCERCISING.. BUUUUUT NOW, I AM BACK AT THE GYM PUSHING MYSELF AGAIN. BABY STEPS THOUGH.. JUST BABY STEPS!! LOL
I AM BACK ON THE HORSE AND READY TO RIDE THE BIG RIDE AGAIN. GOD PERMITTING OF COURSE.
I AM STILL PLANNING ON FOCUSING MORE ON POWERLIFTING (ONCE I REHABE MY SHOULDERS BACK; STILL PEEKS MY INTEREST... EVEN MORE NOW. ANYWAY, ONCE AGAIN, THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR GREAT COMMENTS AND CRITICISMS. KEEP UP THE GREAT/MOTIVATIVE WORK THAT YOU GUYS ARE DOING!
ALSO, PLEASE REMEMBER TO KEEP YOUR HEADS HELD UP HIGH AND DON'T GIVE UP!! FOR WHEN YOU ACCOMPLISH YOUR GOAL(S), YOU CAN PROUDLY GIVE THOSE HATTERS THE MIDDLE FINGER WITH PRIDE!! LOL YOU ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL TO ME! GOD BLESS!!****
I Went through all the body types: skinny, fat, then muscular. I was a sick baby, always catching some kind of cold or pneumonia (hope I spelled that right?). I got fat when my parents divorced; blamed it on myself (violin story. won't bore you with that). Anyway, I turned to food for comfort and what I thought was happiness. Well, not proud to say, at age 14, wieghing in about 220 @ 5'2, my doctor warned me that, if I don't do something about my wieght and quick... I might not see my adulthood! So, that started my "change". I knew I had to do something with my fat, lazy, couch patatoe a$$! The answer was obvious... start working out; later on, joining the military (ARMY)! You know what? IT WORKED!! Hmmmm... GO FIGURE!!
Why I Love It:
I love that I am able to take my frustrations out without hurting anyone. LOL
Helps me think/deal with stress, etc. So, instead of shoving my foot up someone's rear (who may desperately deserves it), I just take it out on the wieghts and myself! It's healthier that way... RIGHT?!
How I Stay Motivated:
I have about 3 types of motivations:
1)By watching other's workout! I get pumped like HELL; feed off of their energy, somewhat like a vampire. It makes me realize that, if he/she can do it, then damn it.. SO CAN I!!
2)Hearing that all too familiar phrase of "YOU CAN NEVER DO THAT" has become my ULTIMATE PUMPING fuel!! LOVE TO GIVE THEM THE MIDDLE FINGER ONCE I'VE ACCOMPLISHED THAT CERTAIN SO CALLED IMPOSSIBLE GOAL!!
3)Last but SURELY NOT THE LEAST... I LOOOOOVE THE FEEL OF THAT ULTIMATE PUMP OF WHERE YOU PUSH THE HELL OUT OF YOURSELF, TO THE POINT OF BLOWING CHUNKS!!!! IT'S SUCH A RUSH THAT IT'S ALMOST FREAKY, YET ORGASMIC!! OOOOH BABY YEAH!!! LOL
BB Accomplishments:
I turned 30 and so I am trying to keep what the good Lord has given me.
Also, I'm now in training for the Men's Health Urbananathlon in Manhattan, NYC, this up and coming September.

He he, well, you're lucky. I've always wanted to try my hand at powerlifting but I don't think I have the structure for it. Unless I'm just doing deads all the time. ;-)

Good to hear you're headed back to the states next week. I know you're looking forward to it.
Me, well, I'm working on moving while balancing out this crazy training/working act I got going on. The stuff is fun though.
Plunge into powerlifting? How you gonna do that? I kinda want to do that myself but I'm trying to move away from the powerlifting gym.
