Background

When I Started: Apr 2008
HOW I STARTED:

I was a FAT MOM of 2 and decided I better get FIT to show my children an alternative lifestyle over fast food:) April 2008 was my turning point when I weighed 210lbs. At 5'2", I was about as round as I am Short! lol I never saw myself in the mirror as fat as I was in reality. I was a size freakin 18....AND THAT IS BIG Mama 18. Not the new Jr. sizing 18! lol I did it and I can honestly say that it was one of the hardest things I have ever done. It is still to this day a MIND GAME with me. I believe everything in life happens for a reason and we may not know what that reason is until later. I truly believe I finally had the strength, courage, determination to conquer this battle so I could learn from it and help others.

WHY I LOVE IT:

When I'm working out, ITS ALL ABOUT ME! I'm not busy being a single mom! IT's my ME time! I'm a 110% at the gym. I have to make the most of my time and I have made it my goal to be the sweatiest CHICK leaving the gym! I also compete. I love having a goal date to reach...It's about the journey in the end. I have met a lot of fabulous people because of this journey that I am very grateful to call my friend.

My Workout Program View My Full Workout Program

My Workout Program

My workout is designed for my goals and how my bodytype responds to lifting etc. I am in the midst of bringing down some of my muscularity in my legs and adding to my shoulders. You'll notice I don't lift a lot on the program I am following currently. However, don't dismiss the power of plyometrics and interval training....and especially Pilates Reformer TRAINING! It ROCKS!

My current program as of December 1st, 2009 Early Early Early AM workouts!!!

Monday - Sunday (cardio 20-45mins)Varies with elliptical, stairmaster (around the world) and treadmill....All INTERVAL TRAINING..

Monday & Thursday- Pilates Reformer Training (1 hr)

Mon - Wed - Fri - Sun PLYOMETRICS Class (my booty shakin, jumping, Kickboxing, sprinting & interval training class that I designed!) (30-45mins)

Saturday - Step Class

2 days a week - HEAVY LIFTING SHOULDERS DO WORK HERE!!!

3 days a week - ABS (hey, they are not built in the gym but rather the kitchen....however, It just makes me feel good to do them! LOL) and makes them HARDER!

After my last comp, Nov 14th 2009, I LIFTED SUPER HEAVY for a week...all over body workouts...it felt sooo good to do an actual leg workout....But, after that week, I am done. I am blessed and cursed with my genetics. I can gain muscle easy, however, I can also gain FAT easy!

My workout is setup to help me look my best at my next comp which is in March 2010 at the Arnold Amatuer in Figure. I am told by many, and all the time, that I should give my body a rest and sit out of the gym 1 day a week. Unfortuantly I am an ALL OR NOTHING kind of person. And when I try to stay out....I feel lost and off schedule. I do what works for me...You do what works for YOU!!!

Training for the Arnold.....3.5 weeks out!!!

So, I am into FULL TRAINING mode these days.... Getting my butt kicked 2x's a day! You gotta love the training aspect if you want to step on that stage and LOOK YOUR BEST! There is NO slacking OFF and there is NO CHEATING! You are either IN IT TO WIN IT or don't bother spending your time training your azz off. Diet, well depends who you are...but we all ARE HUNGRY right now! LOL Yes, I get 7 meals a day and I make sure I am taking full advantage of them! LOL I'm in the middle of waiting for my food to settle before I step on my tready for a FULL HOUR of sprints! Yes, I'm either SPINNING OR SPR...

I am getting bombarded with emails about my transformation. Alot of the common questions are: 1. What is your diet like? 2. What do you do for exercise? 3. How did you do this so fast? 1.So, to reieterate my diet....Well, 1st...It's NOT a DIET. It is a LIFESTYLE change. A different way of EATING. I eat to FUEL my body these days...I don't necessarily eat for the enjoyment of FOOD. We all know how much I enjoyed the food, hence my abundance of FAT over my adolescent and adult years! LOL So, until you truly understand what I am saying and are ready to believe it for yourself....You wouldn't eat...

So to give u some background info.....Yesterday was a HARD day for me mentally and physically. Work, Home, Gym YOU NAME IT. I am a stick to a routine kind of person. If I have a plan, I FOLLOW IT. I am also "the glass is ALWAYS 1/2 full!" I try to be a very positive upbeat person when I am out in public, etc. I believe in leading by example. That is my motto.
