Why I Love It:
I'm a pretty intellectual person, so it helps me get out of my head.
How I Stay Motivated:
I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified. - 1 Corinthians 9:27

Short term goal: Below 19% bodyfat by the end of September 2008.
Goal (Long):
I weighed 235 lbs when I got married, and through dieting I was able to get down to 188 lbs. Yet my weight has slowly crept up to 210 lbs. My clothes that I bought for my new weight no longer fit me. This has come through letting myself indulge in a bit too much rich food, wine, etc.
I don't want to diet and get back down to 188 lbs (which was too little for my body frame and type anyway). Instead, I want to develop a healthy lifestyle so that I can feel good about my choices and fitness. My goal weight and bodyfat are 195 lbs / 15% bodyfat. I believe that through proper planning, measuring, diet and exercise I can achieve my goal in 12 months.
I do a 5x5 program for all my exercises. I'm getting the most gains off this program right now.

How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
45 seconds - 2 minutes, depending on the intensity of the exercise and how many/which muscles it works out (e.g. 45 seconds for military press, 1 minute for bench press, 1.5-2 minutes for squats and deadlift).45 seconds - 2 minutes, depending on the intensity of the exercise and how many/which muscles it works out (e.g. 45 seconds for military press, 1 minute for bench press, 1.5-2 minutes for squats and d...more

What celebrity body would you most like to have? Why?
What do celebrities' bodies have to do with my goals and motivation?
So I've recently reset on bench press and squat. It's kind of depressing to see the numbers drop on my profile, but I have to remember, as a person of faith, I base my value in who God says I am, not on some chart I post on my bodyspace.
The good part of these dropping numbers, however,...
For sure man - i was doing 3 days a week for a while now doing 4 - should/forearms on mon, tues is legs,Thursday - chest /tris and fri is back and bis - been on this for bout 2 months.
Hey bud,
Doing good so far. I can't seem to break this 20% mark yet. I'll get it eventually.
I guess I need to read my bodyspace more often. I moticed you posted almost a week ago.
Sounds like things are going pretty good! I know what you mean about undisciplined eating... it's hard when I rarely have time to cook for myself and a McDonald's is just two blocks away... I've been getting better though.
To tell you the truth, I am not getting the time in the weight room that I would like. I am now teaching full time, our church's new after school program takes 2 extra days a week, and I can't neglect my family. I can't afford to not do anything, or I'll lose my health. Keep me in your prayers.
It looks like things are going well for you. Keep up the good work.
In Christ,
Matt
exactly some people let it rule their lives. there was some lady on the news today who let that happen. however she wound up being chunky anyways in the end. i didnt see how it turned out becuase i had to leave.
nah, if they are working for you, then your doing fine. i tihink its only over board if you are taking 20+ pills a day and going to the gym more than once a day.
pretty good, especially since i can actually fall asleep at night now from kicking my own ass! haha! but yeah, i am enjoying it very much. hows it going with you?
Thanks man. I'm actually going to try and go even higher next time, they were surprisingly easy today. Not a complaint! We'll see if I can lift a little more on the bench next too.
As for squats... I'd love to do them more, but my school doesn't have a real squat rack, only a smith machine (who knows why...), and my knees don't really like squats with a smith machine... it kills them. So I just do a bunch of other lifts.
