When I Started:
2001
How I Started:
I was a cardio queen before I started lifting weights. Ran 4 miles every day with one 6 mile run a week. Then someone said you ought to lift weights. I was afraid of getting too big. LOL. In 2001 with help from 2 of my guy friends at work that lifted, I started my journey.
Why I Love It:
More than anything I love to lift weights. I love the feel of my muscles getting pumped. I love the soreness the next day. I especially loved how lifting sculpted my body.
How I Stay Motivated:
Wanting to stay healthy and fit. Wanting to be a hot mother of 3 at age 38. To motivate people to want to do the same. To look like I'm in my 20's and not almost 40.

Goal (Long):
"Living life without following your dreams is a life without purpose or passion. Having the desire to follow your dreams, regardless of how difficult the path, may guarantee you success even though the journey may be paved with obstacles. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too." (Tosca Reno) I want to become better and live my life with purpose and passion!!!
I do crossfit 5 to 6 days a week. I have been doing 2 wod's for a few months now. Trying to run afterwards if I have enough time. I have really kicked up my training since the beginning of the year.
Nice. Were there injuries or frost bite from Mirror Lake? Or just plain fungus from that most likely unclean place... I heart beating scUm. I love that it has been 6 years and I can not get enough of the dejected fans...
the cert was good, except I suck at the Oly Lifts...and it showed. Good stuff, I highly reccomend it. Sorry you have to work the scUm game :(. Did you see that Stefanie Spielman lost her battle with cancer...so sad.
I couldn't even imagine doing 5 rounds of FGB - I could barely move after 3. FGB heavy might be interesting; one of the guys I train with completed the workout with a 20 lb vest on...thought he was nuts, but might have to give it a try one day.
Ah shucks-thanks Nic-you're making me blush. But seriously thanks, really means a lot. I meant to tell you, I just recently did Fight Gone Bad, and while I did okay with 315 reps, I really didn't think I was gonna get through all 3 rounds. I'm not sure if you've done FGB, but I always dread that one...and I have to do it again in a couple weeks.
That's great. Are you thinking about doing some coaching in the future?
I'm in the midst of getting a personal trainer certification, and gonna look at a nutrition certification too...never thought I've have to start hittin the books again.
I'm gonna still get in my crossfit 2x a week, but I think I might take it easy on some of the other workouts, at least for a couple of weeks or so...then back at it full throttle.
How's your training been lately?
I have been having a problem trying to send that file. It won't compress. So I am going to try another option. Did you see that I had 3 girls finish 2nd, 3rd and 4th at a local competition in scaled. I was so proud.
