Background

When I Started: no information entered
HOW I STARTED:

I was a cardio queen before I started lifting weights. Ran 4 miles every day with one 6 mile run a week. Then someone said you ought to lift weights. I was afraid of getting too big. LOL. In 2001 with help from 2 of my guy friends at work that lifted, I started my journey.

WHY I LOVE IT:

More than anything I love to lift weights. I love the feel of my muscles getting pumped. I love the soreness the next day. I especially loved how lifting sculpted my body.

Crossfit in a blur

I have been so busy training and working that I haven't had time to blog my workouts. I can't honestly say I remember them all in the last week and I don't have my journal with me to remember what I have done or my times. I have been training hard though. I do however remember last Thursday's workout. I did progressive cleans..slow tempo heel raised squats and stiff legged deadlift with a 3 second down count with sumo grip. Then..I did my crossfit WOD. 3 Deadlift @ #190 7 squat cleans @ #85 19 4 count mountain climbers I think this was for 4 rounds..I think my time was 15:44. This was absolute...

Loving me some more burpees!!!!

Today I did a quick workout at home. 21,18,15,12,9,6,3 of: double unders burpees my time...12:06..WOW talk about sucking air!

yesterday I did 2 WOD's to get rid of some pent up frustration and the overeating I engaged in..boo :( It looked like this.. 15,12,9 reps of: Deadlifts @ #185 Double Unders Dumbbell swings #35 Burpees time..11:06..holy hell..doesn't look that hard..but I was sucking wind on this WOD..the deadlifts got real heavy at this wt. as well. My back is definitely tight today from this WOD. I waited 20 minutes then did.. "GI Jane" 100 burpee pullups time..15:13..VERY disappointed on my time for this. But I got to the point I could only do 5 at a time. This was definitely rough..and opened up a...

NoEndInSight I couldn't even imagine doing 5 rounds of FGB - I could barely move after 3. FGB heavy might be interesting; one of the guys I train with completed the workout with a 20 lb vest on...thought he was nuts, but might have to give it a try one day. Nov 9, 2009 7:47pm

NoEndInSight Ah shucks-thanks Nic-you're making me blush. But seriously thanks, really means a lot. I meant to tell you, I just recently did Fight Gone Bad, and while I did okay with 315 reps, I really didn't think I was gonna get through all 3 rounds.
