Background

When I Started: Apr 2011
HOW I STARTED:

Got tired of my unhealthy lifestyle. I saw a lot of very fit people and one day woke up and asked myself, "why not me?" April 2011 I started doing weight training with a friend, but still had a horrible diet. Around Aug 2011 I started Lee Lebrada's 12 week trainer, but by the end my diet went to crap again. Then came 2012. I decided I have just over 3 months until I am stationed back in the US again and I want the type of body I can be proud of. I started Kris Gethin's 12 week program on 4 Jan. I should be finished roughly 1 April.

WHY I LOVE IT:

Honestly it's like everyday I feel like I accomplished something great which is important because I tend to get bored and quit if I don't have results fast enough (daily is much better than only measuring myself twice; beginning/end). On top of that I am doing something that not many people around me are. I give it my all and I feel better for doing it. The daily accomplishments also make me excited to get to the milestones a few months down the road. Originally I wanted people who haven't seen me in a while to have the reaction of 'wow, how did you do that?!' but the further along I go I think it's really me personally who can't wait to look back at my beginning photos and have that reaction. It's a win situation all around . . a boost to the self esteem, a boost in physical appearance, a boost in fitness/health, and a confidence gained from those things that no one can ever take away from you.

Took my end of week 8 photos today and I'm not quite as pleased with the difference when comparing them vs the beginning photos.  I posted 2 comparison photos on my bodyspace today but colored over the faces (yep embarrassed about the 'lack' of improvement?).  I figure I'm either blind, it's a true representation of how completely changing my diet/work-out routine/lifestyle has had so little impact on me physically in 2 months of dedication, I have swapped fat for muscle gain, or my camera is just messing with me.  Seriously I was ecstatic between t...

Week 4 day 25

This week has been Kris' triple drop sets for chest/back/bi/shoulders.  Honestly my muscles have never been as worn out as they were this week doing this type of lifting.  Normally I can do 50's for my incline dumbbell fly for at least 12 reps.  Today I had to go all the way down to the 35's, to 25's, to 15's.  It was demoralizing at first, but afterwards I realized how hard I worked out my chest and felt great I got such a good work out in.  I might change my mind tomorrow depending on how sore I am, ha ha.

Week 3 day 16 of Kris Gethin's 12 week trainer. I was completely unable to do 1 V-Bar pull up with legs elevated. I'll get there one day I'm sure. 3 weeks into this program and I haven't seen much weight loss from the start. Total I might be down 4 lbs which is slow compared to Kris' weight loss. Very weary of eating 200g of protein/carbs 6-8 times a day so I eat about 125g of each for my meals. I have seen fat loss though. My waist size is down to 32.5 and I can tell I am losing some mid-section fat. Up to this point the hardest part of this program is the diet by far. The food isn't bad, but...
