got started lifting with a set of DP water/sand weight set and a bench one summer as i prepared for the upcoming football season.
I have never lifted continuously until more recently since Jan 2007. I have now lost 32# since this time last year and dropped almost 8% in bodyfat. If i see the same types of gains this year, i will have met my goal.
Why I Love It:
I love the sense of strength i feel and the confidence when I get to the office after working out a few weeks. I am a much better performer at work and more outgoing when i am feeling fit.
How I Stay Motivated:
This is difficult. I need to have a goal in order to stay motivated, although it has come easier with age. I am hoping this site give the right amount of motivation to keep moving. I finally started keeping a journal this year and it is great to look at the gains. My log has been my laptop that i carry to the basement and track what i do.
BB Accomplishments:
none really, but i would love to participate in a contest as my ultimate goal.

Still going. next goal is to get ripped abs. need to step up my cardio though to do that. we'll see
I want to be a rock solid 195 by working off the fat and maintaining my strength. It's been about 6 years since I really took my physique seriously and weighed under 200 lbs and i have never gotten the full "cut" look. It will take a combination of lifting and really reshaping my diet/cardio.
Met the first goal and now want a six-pack to complete the transformation.
What is the most dangerous weightlifting exercise? Why?
I would have to say the lying tricep extensions if you don't have a spotter. I actually don't do them anymore since i know i have to lift heavier weight and am scared that if i push too hard i will drop.I would have to say the lying tricep extensions if you don't have a spotter. What is the most common reason that somebody gets injured while lifting?
Improper form from cheating to lift that extra weight.
