hairyhulk219 Good to hear. I did the same thing you are currently doing. I always tried to get bigger, but now that I'm not compeeting in anything it seemed kinda pointless to keep getting bigger. GENETIQUETTE I do compete! Open water swims, 500/1000/1650 freestyle and 200 breaststroke. I'm sorry to hear about your shoulder! Was it caused by swimming? Often, having a thumbs-first entry or crossing over the midline while swimming can cause this. I hope you recover soon! Nov 9, 2012 10:13am

hairyhulk219 Thanks man! I did keep most of my strength, and actually improved on most lifts (squats, hang cleans....). Bench is the only lift that dropped, and that is due to not lifting as heavy anymore to save my shoulders. I did a one rep max in September and pushed 375 and weighed in at 175. So pound for pound it is the strongest I've been (haven't pushed 210% of my BW before). Goal is to reach 185 with the same body comp. How's your training world? Nov 6, 2012 11:43am

CollinWasiak Thanks! a judge said that my tan is what cost me placing top 5 but I could definitely do some work on my chest and shoulders.. I have another comp on Oct 20th and will have the tan down pat so lets hope they were right! Oct 11, 2012 1:59pm

hendrix91 I most definitely am, just always busy with school and fraternity so my lifting has sort of taken second priority. Still hitting the gym 3-4 times a week, but my diet has been fairly poor, just maintaining really. I am having the time of my life though! Recently won a 5,000 scholarship and offered a job at National Oilwell Varco at the same event, so I'd say things are going great! Apr 26, 2012 7:27pm

mnixon i don't eat as healthy as i'd like, but i start out with a protein smoothie: strawberry, banana, orange juice, spinach, fiber mix, protein (about 25g) and can't remember what else is in the purees i drink (naked brand, can find it at places like whole foods or probably publix), big fan of wheaties fuel throughout the day, and i try to stick with boneless, skinless chicken and ground turkey for my meats. i rarely ever eat out, and almost never eat fast food. gixxermoto750 Yeah, low and heavy is my m.o. on most too, but for for shoulders, mainly just pressing; have to keep your cuffs good for back country poll work, right!? But yeah, I've been all over. I'm a big Alberta / B.C. fan, but for stateside Park City is nice... I've done some creative falling in the Jupiter section haha. Canada is nice though... cheaper and arguably friendlier!
