When I Started:
Dec, 2007
How I Started:
I am no stranger to working out from high school sports to military to a law enforcement agency. Adult life, children, relationships, career, took me through the weight rollercoaster. So last year, I made the decision of when to retire, I have about 4 years. With that on the horizon, question was how do I want to look, what to I want to be doing? I wanted to be in better shape. I started with Weight Watchers and was very successful, then cardio. After a trip to a fitness competition last June, I saw the potential for myself to look that way and so the journey starts.
Why I Love It:
It's like creating a piece of art.
How I Stay Motivated:
Self talk, especially through workouts. Pushing myself know absolutely no body else can or will get my body into shape but me.
BB Accomplishments:
12/07 Getting started on the body transformation journey.
08/08 Bodyspace online
09/08 Progress photos.
10/22/08 Reached initial goal of 50 pounds lost. Setting new goals.
10/27/08 Took on a personal trainer

At 224 lbs. At a conference last year, I took a business suit I later found I could not wear.
Don't be fooled by this casual pose. Check the following. 174 lbs.
Continue to lose visible body fat and change my shape.
Goal (Long):
Im a tall woman but with extra weight I appear shorter. That is not cute. I like a tall lean look and for the first time, my goal is to really develop a visible muscular look. Not large but strong. I also want to maintain agility, so stretching and flexibility are important. I want body fat under 15%, about 10%. To compete, of course, the body fat would be lower but right now I remain a fan of those that push to competition level. I'm not looking to be a size 2. I think I was in kindergarden at that size. But I'd like to be back in single digit sizes. AND I don't want to have to struggle to stay there but maintain a regular good routine of working out and nutrition.
Okay, new progress photos are up for November. I am happy for the progress I've made. But I have seen recent photos of me that don't appear as slim as I'd like to look. So I have this new goal look I'm aiming for. It's call, "photo slim." When someone sees me in a photo,...
This time around I am trying to GAIN a few pounds over the next 15 weeks and I definitely want to improve my conditioning. But the biggest change is that I am focusing on legs and hamstrings/glutes 2-3 times per week--ALOT of work to do there.
Traci: Keep focused on your goal and the rewards will follow. Push through the hard times, because I can tell you, it ain't easy! But worth all the effort.
Happy Saturday,
H
Thank you so much! You're looking great with your losses and gains! Keep up the hard work, and don't give up on finding a good competition. They're out there. Peace & luv
