When I Started:
Jan, 2008
How I Started:
When I was 13 I began bike racing and for 8 years it led my life. When I developed a knee injury that ended my cycling career I just tried to stay active doing whatever didnt hurt or cause flare-ups. I feel like now, at 27, I am at a completely new phase of life, and I have a renewed motivation and drive and I am so excited to put myself on the line, and be accountable for the fact that I want to attain my dream physique! No more excuses! I know my knee will be an obstacle to overcome at times, but I know I can do this, and take as much time as I need, but for the motivation of goal-setting I have decided to focus intensely for the next 12 weeks, vamping up my lifting and beginning a new diet! Time to finally get ripped!
Why I Love It:
It makes me feel sooooo good! I love pushing myself and attaining goals!
How I Stay Motivated:
Seeing pics of other's progress and having people to be accountable to! Sometimes an encouraging word goes so far! And Im sure at some point I will need it to accomplish my new 2008 goals...
My goal is to finally achieve the body I can be confident about, lean and muscular, but still feminine.
Goal (Long):
Who hasn't at some point in their life wanted to feel their absolute best? I have dreamed of attaining this potential in my life for as long as I can remember. I have started and failed too many times to count. I know it is all mental/spiritual. I know now I have what it takes because I am not doing it alone this time. I believe that the spirit can and does manifest in the physical. I want my spirit to be stronger than my "fleshly" desires, so my goals are as follows: I want to reach a weight loss of at least 15lbs of fat by April 3. I want to have definition on my total body. I have also registered for BFL and have hopes that being in a competition will ignite my competitive spirit and help keep me motivated. I will be posting monthly progress pics to help keep me accountable, so in three and a half weeks I will post my first set. Im too embarrassed to post any pre-transformation pics yet, which in itself is very motivating! I know I will be successful, but depending on my level of success (and ability to be injury free) I would like to possibly be in my first figure show this summer... We will have to see on that one.

What do you do before your workout to get motivated and energized?
I pray alot. Always thanking God for giving me a fully functioning body and mind. I thank Him for giving me the ability to set physical goals.. there are so many people out there who dont have functioning, who are impaired, and I dont want to take it for granted for a single day. What is your favorite "healthy" dessert? Give the recipe if applicable.
No Pudge Brownies are the BEST! They are so easy to make, just add 1 cup of fat free yogurt to the dry mix.. I like them gooey so I under-bake them and they are low cal, fat free, and satisfy the chocolate need. No Pudge Brownies are the BEST! What type of nutrition plan are you currently following? Give full details.
5-6 meals per day, caloric cycling, averaging 250 calories less than needed for BMR and activity level for the first 3 weeks. The second 3 weeks I will decrease average caloric level another 250 calories. Counting carbs and eliminating carbs from last 3 meals of the day. Mostly eating protein in forms of egg whites, fish, lean meats... Carbs only in first 3 meals and are oatmeal, wheat bread, protein bars, or shakes. And lots and lots of veggies! I just started this so if it doesnt do the trick I will change it up or add more cardio after the second week. 5-6 meals per day, caloric cycling, averaging 250 calories less than needed for BMR and activity level for the first 3 weeks.
