When I Started:
Dec, 2007
How I Started:
5 years ago my life was shattered by a divorce. I quit school and started working full time. The job was incredibly stressful. When I started that job I weighed 145 pounds and had just passed my last karate test before black belt. Over the last five years I have gone from fighting in tournaments and training at least once a day to merely existing: working a sedentary desk job and eventually stopping all activity. I now weigh 218 lbs and can barely walk up the stairs. I am taking my life back starting today!
I want to get back into fighting shape and get my black belt.
Goal (Long):
The best shape that I've ever been in was about five years ago and that is the shape I want to be in again. I had just passed my last brown belt test and I could spar all day and still want more. I felt on top of the world and the confidence that I felt started being incorporated into all aspects of my life. I wasn't afraid to do ANYTHING-no that isn't true-I was afraid but that didn't stop me! I felt best at around 145 pounds-any less than that and I seemed to lose strength. I want to stop feeling ashamed of myself.
Weight Goal:
I want to LOSE 73 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
15%
Upcoming Contest:
Black belt test

Again it's been a while....life gets in the way sometimes....ya know? My dad, my maternal grandmother, my maternal grandfather and my dog all died last year. My mom was taking care of her mother and she lost both her parents within two weeks of each other. Granted, my grandfather was 102 and...
Without a doubt, being mentally prepared for change is essential to reach your goals. Without being mentally prepared we often leave ourselves many 'outs' for failure and we tend to repeat our mistakes over and over again. Clear and concise goalmaking makes things easier and helps lay out a clearer path to follow. Oddly enough, that is what my next blog will be about, so you'll have to check it out ;-) Hoping to have it done on Monday.....so stay tuned ;-) L8R.
