i've always done it off and on, mainly for fitness. Never really been into the weights side of things.
Why I Love It:
I just generally love the feel of being exhausted the morning after a hard session of football/ fitness in a gym. since i have started bringing weights into my training on a regular basis the feeling of a good stretch out and the extra impact it brings to my sports is amazing.
How I Stay Motivated:
usually i give myself little personal goals.

I want to reduce my bodyfat while increasing strength
Goal (Long):
As i've recently joined a football(soccer) team i have found it necessary to increase strength due to the physical nature of the new style of game.
I want to shed off all un-necessary weight while building more muscle to help with teh physical side of it, explosive power, strength and stamina are very important.
Time for running? Sometimes it is hard but, over all it has just become part of my life style. It didn't take to long to build up to 3 miles just stick with it!
