After competing in the NPC for 3-4 years (and enjoying every minute of it) I found this show while surfing the net. A Natural show with a pro-card as the reward. I went into this show with a new diet, dieting 7 weeks out instead of my usual 12 and while I looked a bit fuller I was not as tight as I have been in the past. I did well, I won my weight class but was not good enough to pull off the overall. I enjoyed this show because this crowd really got into my posint routine, they got it and they knew what posing was all about to me. I had only posed in front of a crowd that enthusiastic only once before, and that was in Visalia about 10 years ago. They put a smile on my face. I met some great people and the promoters of the show were none other than Tina Smith and Bob Bell, who I met and competed alongside 10 years ago in Visalia at an NGA event. Alot of fun and it felt great to be back with my peers in Natural Bodybuiding. |

I had alot of fun doing this show. My profile pic is from this show, I looked and felt great but just not my night. I was beaten by a remarkable 54 yr old bodybuilder by the name of John Manoogian, a long time NPC vet and was just on it that night. |

Came back the follwing year, looking so much better and it paid off. I took my class, the Bantams and thus qualifying me for the NPC Nationals. I was the only natural class winner and the oldest too (43). I got to pose for Ed again and still just as nervous. But this time I had the physique to back it up. Paul Love, the promoter is another class act. If anyone is thinkig of doing a big time show then I highly recomend this one. But be for warned, it is big time, so lots of folks backstage and even more in the audience, I have never competed in front of such a huge crowd, were talking hundreds of people, lots of people. I had a great time |

I was away from competition for 5 years and relearned a lesson I had taught to me earlier in my career: the competion keeps right on growing. I looked so-so. The highilight of it all was it was at the Paul Love promoted show I met for the first time my Idle, the greatest poser our sport will ever have (past, present, future, period!), the Masterposer, Ed Corney. I had been a huge fan of his since I was 16 and here I was at the age of 42 and face to face with him. I remember I must have talked his ear off because I couldn't help myself, babbling on and on and he was so Class, so polite. When I posed that night I dedicated my routine to him and I was so nervous, my style is so much inspired by Ed and I was so self-conceince about it. He was greacious in his comments later on and I still think he was the greatest bodybuilder of all time (at least to me). I mean, just look at the pics of him at the 1972 IFBB Mr America and Mr. Universe. 159# and just flawless. (I also think he should have won the 1977 Mr. Olympia, no slight to the great Frank Zane) |

I nailed this one. I came in so shredded (I have yet to be that shredded again) and was in such great shape I walked away with not only my class title but the overall. Imagine the chagrin of the bigger guys when this little chihuahaua beat them all. I dedicated my routine to my new little girl-pooch: LittleOne. She fixed my sadness. My last show for Skye Wild Dixon as she stopped promoting a couple of years later. All I can say is that Skye is a class lady, an amazing woman and I was priviledged to compete and guest pose as well as judge at a couple of her shows. God bless you Skye where ever you are. |

This show I remember because I was going through an emotionally sad time in my life. My beloved little dog (Daisy) had been hit and killed by a car a few weeks out and I was very sad. I tried but my heart was not in it. I know that sounds funny that I would be so torn up but I was. Subsequently I just looked awful, smooth with a tire around my belly. I train entirely from the heart, when my heart is in it I do good, when my heart is not, I do not do so good. Still I dedicated my routine to her memory and her love and then a kind hearted competitor let me sob on his shoulder afterwards (he was a dog lover too so he knew how I felt). You get to meet some of Gods nicest people at shows. I always remember that fellows kindness when I really needed it. I still see him when he helps out at the Capital City in Sacramento and my spirit is always smiling when I see him. May God bless him forever. |

I had a great time, competing once again for Skye Wild Dixon. The class winner was thick, to much muscle for a little guy like me to really be of a threat but I took it to him. I did beat alot of other guys 10-15# heavier than me. I had alot of fun |

My very first Natural show and I loved it. The promoter was a very pretty woman named Skye Wild Dixon, she herself was a WNBF Ms. Universe and I competed in front of a head judge by the name of Wade Brown, a former WNBF pro. He had us up there a long time. I took second and then 1st by default because the class winner tested positive. |

Was out of competition for 5 years and got a well deserved wake up call to how your fellow competitors can progress right by you. A good lesson that I still at times forget. |

My very first show and I will cherish the memories. I had the time of my life and the promoter, Gary Hill, left a wonderful memory of how a promoter should treat his builders entering thier show. He was a class act. My first show, I won the overall novice and have been competing off and on since then. |
