When I Started:
Jan, 2009
How I Started:
I have always been on "diets" and different exercise programs, but it was never anything that I stuck with due to lack of results. I can honestly say now that the lack of results was MY lack of exercise and my lack of willingness to do it. I have always been very active since I was a child, but it always seemed that when my exercise and activity was up to par, my diet was not, so neither of the 2 alone helped me in any way.
I pretty much gave up until I became pregnant and I now have a beautiful son that I want to be proud of me, and not feel ashamed of me in front of his friends. Some people say that if you cannot do something for yourself then you will never accomplish it. Well...I disagree. They either do not have kids or are extremely selfish people. I quit smoking for my child and I am still smoke-free...almost 2 years!
So basically...My son (Sheldon) got me started! One day he will look back and know that he probably saved my life. For that, I will be forever grateful.
Sometimes it just takes a good reason for someone to do something! He is mine!
Why I Love It:
I love it because I finally found a diet that actually makes me feel like I am doing something positive with eating certain foods and restricting my body from certain things. Before it was not like this at all. This is the only diet that I have had positive results on and that makes me VERY happy!
Keto has been a like a miracle and love it.
I just recently started "working out"; something in which I have not done in many years, and I wish like hell I had never quit! I love the way it males me feel physically and the accomplishments that it brings, which is emotional happiness!
How I Stay Motivated:
I just remember my son and how good it all feels, and I remember that everyday I stick to my guns, is another day closer to my goals.
I also get a ton of motivation from this board and certain members here will never know how they have truly helped me stay motivated.

Keto Success! The only way to go!
Keto..my life saver! I need to lose 140 more pounds! Keto will get me through it!
Goal (Long):
I have been overweight all of my life, and I am ready to once again, fight the fight. I have tried diet after diet, and I have always been very active, more so than most people in general, especially overweight people. When I was 8 years old, my mother took me to the doc and after running a few tests, they found that my metabolism was working in the negative. When I ate 500 calories and 5 grams of fat, it was like eating literally 3x's more. (1500 calories and 15 grams fat) so I have battled since, and nothing was done then, and I am not sure that anything could have been done, or can be done. I have never checked into it any further. When I was 13 I lost 72lbs in 3 months and 2 weeks. I was taking an herbal supplement, and drinking a lot of water and Gatorade, it was fast, but the weight stayed off for a long while. Then when I was 20, I went to a summer camp for outdoor activities. It turned out to be a very restricted place, and I ate breakfast , lunch and dinner, and never anything after 6pm and went to bed no earlier than 9pm and got up weekdays at 5am. I lost a lot of weight then, and I believe thats when I was at my lowest weight. I so happy and I want very bad to get back to that.
Well, I still have the same outlook, but things got a little tainted for me. I am starting over again! Now, I need to lose 165 :( But I have had a good start and I will keep it up! I am determined now more than ever.
What supplements do you take immediately before your workout? Why?
Purple wraath..because it gives me extreme energy!
L-Glutamine..to assist workout and prevent muscle injury.
Kre-Alkalyn creatine....because it helps build lean mass.

Where do you mainly workout?
Home
Why? What are the pros and cons of working out there?
Because I can do it anytime I want to, and it more private. I feel comfortable here, unlike the gym. the cons would be not having everything the gym has to offer. But overall I would not change what I do...I would just buy more equipment! :D Because I can do it anytime I want to, and it more private. What should look for in a gym? What should you avoid?
I avoid gyms period. They are marketing scams IMO....you could buy equipment for home with what you pay them!
I weighed myself today 3-18-08 as it has been 6 days since I started my program! So far so good...I feel like a million dollars! I can't even imagine how I will feel, when it is completed! I have 5 more days to go!
I just wanted to drop by and wish you all the best. You are on your way and I believe that with continued determination you will achieve all of your fitness goals. I look forward to watching your progress. If there is ever anything that I can do to be of assistance please feel free to give me a yell. I would like nothing better than to see you achieve all you dream of on your fitness journey. Stay strong, focused and determined & may God bless.
doing well, post infrequently in keto log. I am doing the Dave Palumbo version of keto. I paid Dave himself to monitor my diet for 16 weeks. Down 7 so far. 30 to go
Hey...everything is going smoothly over here...over did it with the ab roller (300 on Thursday night) trying to make up for missing it on Tuesday, Wednesday and then getting it in for Thursday...still sore as a dog, but going to the gym to hit the legs and cardio. How are you doing? Have a great Valentine's Day!
Congratulations!! You are doing the right thing. Things are going pretty well for me. Like you I try not to focus on the scale, but it does give you a boost seeing the numbers go down. Unfortunately, I haven't lost anymore, but feel the inches melting away so that is good. You will get back on track...your little cutie will get you moving... :)
LOL! Girl, let me tell you I could only do 5 and then kept at it...I will be rolling with the best of them soon. You can do it. Just go at your own pace.
Girl, it's this medieval (lol) device which has handles on either side and 2 small rollers in the middle. You get on your knees and roll forward and then back to work the abs. Let me tell you - it hurts like heck, but is effective! Truth be told, I could only do "5" when I first got it (lol) and was in pain for 2 days, but now I am up to 30..big thing for me. :)
