How I Started:
My interest in bodybuilding sparked in high school training for track and field. Then again in college while finishing up a corporate fitness degree. I've been on again, off again since then. It's time to get serious!
Why I Love It:
It's a super stress reliever which is important to me being a single mom of four. And it energizes me mentally, physically and emotionally. I don't want to look like a run down, saggy butt mother, I want to look like a hot mama!
How I Stay Motivated:
Fitness magazines, online articles, watching others train and seeing how unhealthy people can be when they come into the hospital. I am constantly reading up on nutrition, training techniques, success stories and natural health. But the best motivator is when someone tells me they are seeing changes in my body that I didn't have to point out to them. That is an awesome feeling.
BB Accomplishments:
Always a continual work in progress, always room for improvement. Kickboxing helped me lose 100 lbs after baby #4, then a sluggish thyroid kicked me in the shins along with bad eating habits. I'm seeing amazing results in just a few short weeks of clean eating and consistent training.

I follow a whole/natural foods type of plan being whole grains, vegetables, fruit, plant based proteins and some meat. I avoid most dairy and anything processed or loaded with sugar. What tips would you give to others to help them stay motivated over the long-term?
Listen to your body and never give up. Each of us is different, so we can't judge ourselves by others successes or failures. Stay positive and tune out those who are negative. Yesterday I put into action some of JNL's awesome ab routine and man oh man am I feeling it today! Woohoo what an awesome feeling! I always knew they were there, now I have proof. lol That is perfect motivation to work harder and keep trying to improve everyday. :)
