How I Stay Motivated:
I schedule events or competitions to train for and always set new goals.
BB Accomplishments:
I don't bodybuild. I compete in triathlon, strongman and marathons. I've completed the Chicago Marathon twice, the chicago triathlon, two strongman competitions
improve my triathlon and marathon times, lower body fat, increase strength, someday deadlift a triple
Goal (Long):
i want to improve my sprint and olympic distance tri times, specifically the swim and possibly complete a half iron
I would like to get my body fat down to the 6-7% range while still maintaining my weight over 200 so i can compete in the Clydesdale division
After running my first marathon this last year, i want to eventually qualify for Boston by running a 3:10 marathon.
So i started deadlifting again. I'll never use straps cuz i would rather gain the grip strength than worry about lifting more weight, but what i would kill for right now would be some lifting chalk. God i love that stuff. My college gym had it on hand all the time, but alas i am no longer...
Do you really run a 5K a day? Are you going for time every time or take it easy sometimes? I would break down in a couple of days with a regimen like that -- I need lots of easy days, but then I'm older.
What's the next race on the calendar?
THANKS so much for the positive words. It's always nice to hear those kinds of things after such a LONG journey. Good luck to you, your goals, and the new year for you!
Don't see many triathletes on here. I am doing my first on April 27 in Florida. I am using my tri training as cardio but still lift like a bodybuilder (Heavy). I hope I can still gain muscle and lose the bodyfat.
