When I Started:
Aug, 1999
How I Started:
I started a little bit when I was in high school, but I didn't start taking it more seriously until college. After I graduated from community college I stopped working out because of my job. I then went to a university, and after graduating I began working out again.
Why I Love It:
I love seeing my body transform. I also enjoy watching the amount of weight I can lift increase. It really is addicting.
How I Stay Motivated:
I motivate myself with constant reminder of what I want to look like, and how strong and healthy I want to feel. I love how much energy I get from a good training, and I especially love the burn in my muscles after a good workout.
BB Accomplishments:
305 lbs - Back Extensions
350 lbs - Sitting Calves
12 Chin ups (I weigh about 165 lbs)
For years I had allowed myself to get beat up by life. I let people walk all over me, and I was very unhappy. One day I got sick and went to the doctor, and he said I could be deathly ill. They had to run scores of tests. I was tested for testicular cancer, colon cancer, liver cancer, ulcerative colitis, fatty liver disease, and a few other problems. Life seemed pretty gloom. Then one day I decided that if I was gonna die, I was gonna enjoy life as much as possible. Slowly things began to come together and now I am much happier and healthier for it. Do I still have challenges? Do I still face enormous problems? Yep. Do I still get sad and lonely at times? Yep. The difference? My attitude. My goal is to continue doing the things I love, and bodybuilding is one of those things. I would love to eventually (if possible) compete and win bodybuilding competitions.
After some number crunching, I decided I needed to find a special formula to make my goals more realistic. I know fat lbs is my body fat percent times my total weight. The problem I needed solving was how to determine how many fat lbs I needed to lose to reach a certain bodyfat percent. Here it...
