I always loved the idea of being big and strong, ever since my babysitter brought over 2 lb weights when I was a kid. I would do endless bicep curls and picture myself as a huge, ripped hunk throwing cars and opening pickle jars. But I remember my parents saying I shouldn't lift weights until I was 16 or my bones wouldn't develop properly...
It was a long time to wait, so eventually that drive subsided and I channeled it into excelling academically and in activities like chess and music, though I stayed fairly physically active as well.
But a couple years ago I sort of went off track... I became addicted to online poker, bullet chess, and gaming. I stopped being physically active and lived like a slob alone in my apartment. I had reached a new low, and I had to make a change.
I decided to get back in shape. I started going to the gym at my university, which I had free access to. I started running and lifting, and then I came across bb.com in June of this year.
Why I Love It:
I love knowing that every time I work out, I'm getting closer to reaching my full genetic potential. I love looking at myself in the mirror and telling myself how sexy I look (in an Austin Powers accent). I love the pump (maybe not quite as much as Arnold though). I love pushing myself and the rush of power and determination I need to get out those last few reps.
How I Stay Motivated:
bodybuilding.com helps. But mostly it has to come from the inside. I just think back to my 8 year old self doing endless bicep curls and I let him do the work.
I want to transform into the incredible hulk, minus the green skin and anger issues
Goal (Long):
I'd like to gain 30 pounds of muscle mass, and lose about 10 pounds of body fat, which should put me around 180 lbs, and I'm guessing around 12% body fat. I hope to achieve this by my 21st birthday next August.
Weight Goal:
I want to GAIN 30 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
12%

Thanks man. P90X is a pretty good program as long as you stick to it. You can usually get a pull up bar and any kind of sporting good place for about $30. You having a hard time finding one?
Geordie, thanks for stopping by and the add! You have a good foundation and there is no reason you can't build a figure much stronger and better than Geordie MacTaggart. By the way, that movie was old when I watched it as a kid! You must be among the very few under 40 who have seen that movie!
