Background
If you saw me as a youth, you'd know. A strong wind could have knocked me over!! I grew up across the street from John Black, who later became one of the elite powerlifters in the world. John was quite an inspiration to me. After "fooling around" with weights as a kid, I eventually got serious while I was stationed at 29 Palms Marine Base.
There's something about the challenge of getting in the reps and sets in EVERY workout, the goal of inceasing weight, just pushing it to the next level, no matter how small, but ALWAYS moving forward!

Posted in Working Out : Dec 21, 2011 1:34pmSince my main goal is to increase size and put on some additional bulk, I know I need to shock the muscles into new growth so it’s time to make a few changes. It’s been about 2 months since I’ve made any major changes to my workout routine. I have added some 5x5’s to my basic lifts; bench, dead lifts, and squat. I also incorporated a few other isolation exercises into 5x5’s as well, for chest and back primarily. But now, I’m looking to make a more radical move to really get the growth moving forward again.
I’m meeting with one of the trainers at the gym

Posted in Working Out : Dec 08, 2011 10:17amI’m slowly making changes to my workouts, more 5x5 sets with higher weight and staying with the major muscle isolation exercises; squats, dead lifts, and bench, working up to 90% max for at least two sets. I've added the 5x5's to a couple of my other chest and leg exercises as well.
It’s been an uphill struggle to keep the weight on. I gained four pounds this month, but noticed that I’m back down two pounds this week. I’m fighting with eat enough healthy calories and not feeling like a stuffed sausage in the process. I’m searching for a viable
