When I Started:
Jan, 2009
How I Started:
I grew up being the scrawny kid. No one thought I was good at sports due to my size. I was never picked to play with or even just to hang out. I always got tired of it but never did anything about it.
Due to a family crisis (which you can read about in my blog), I woke up to the fact that the way I live now determines how I am going to live in the future. In 2007 I took action and decided it was time to break the deadly cycle that disable my life and my father's life. I have discovered great changes in my body and in me emotional life due to a healthier lifestyle.
I did not have the experience or education when I first started which determined my immediate level of progress. I started off with cardio only since the thought of weights scared the crap out of me. I eventually added machines to my workout and later on I started doing free weights. Nothing was too consisting and I don't think I was that serious.
January 2009 is when I really took it serious so that is why I put my start date to then. For the next eight months I had a couple different trainers who helped me learn the ropes a bit. As of now, I am on my own and I am pretty excited about where this journey is going to lead me.
Why I Love It:
Exercising relaxes me and pumps me up. When I have a bad day, a good workout will always put me in a better mood. I love to workout especially when I am tired because it always fills me with life.
How I Stay Motivated:
The fact that people have never believed in me helps. No one thinks I can add size or do anything successful in my life. Now that I have turned my life around for the better my brothers love to speak negativity into my life (that is when they speak to me). They keep saying I am going to be big and fat just like them. I have to prove them wrong and that gives me so much motivation to keep going.
Another way I stay motivated is by looking at the big guys on this site as well as my gym. Sometimes I will picture Jill from The Biggest Loser or just stare at one of the big guys at my gym while I am lifting. That gives me the motivation to finish all of my reps with power.
When I get discouraged or want to give up I just take my shirt off and reevaluate myself by looking in the mirror. I see where I am. I remember where I use to be. I think of where I could be. And I think of where they think I will never be able to reach.
I also believe that God has given us a temple (our body) to take care of. It is up to us what we do with that body. So I take honor in worshiping God through health and exercise. And that pumps me up spiritually, mentally and physically.
BB Accomplishments:
I have activated my decision to make a change for the better. That's an accomplishment in my eyes.
Quitting smoking was a huge accomplishment for myself.

Goal (Long):
I want to weigh 180 by May 1, 2010 with a bf in the single digits. I am going to be in a wedding on May 1st in California and my goal is to look my best to show off to all my old buds who I miss greatly.
Josh is the all around nice guy. He is willing to help others by what he has already learned. He is a teacher that is constantly learning himself and pouring out his knowledge onto others. His transformation is incredible. He has went from bone rail to buff in just a few short years. His body size is exactly what I am going for. He is a true inspiration not only physically but also intellectually and spiritually.
I find him inspiring cause of his determination. He has went through huge trials to get where he is. He is a man of dedication, determination and inspiration.
As of Nov. 1, 2009 I won't be on BodySpace as much. I will log in about once a month to check comments and messages. Thanks for all of your friendships. I look forward to staying in touch with everyone.
As we can see much more important things to take care of!! :D The baby is beautiful, Man! Take care of him or her. Can't tell from the angle you holding!! LOL!!!

First, I scanned your pics & you're not in that bad of shape. DON'T base your happiness on looking like a ripped competitive bb'r. There's more to life.
With that being said, if you want a ripped physique & you're working consistently, then it's all about the DIET, DIET, DIET. Eat CLEAN small balanced meals every 2-3 hrs. This keeps the metabolism revved up & burning bodyfat. Check Tosca Reno's site:

GOOD LUCK!
Thank you for the add. I am doing well. I fell down (metaphorically speaking) but I am getting back up and my training is getting back on track. I am working on getting enough sleep and my diet, as I know both are holding me back from my goals. I am learning the basics and trying to remember it all. I will get there. It is nice knowing people are out there rooting for you to succeed. You look great and I hope all is going well for you. Thanks again and stay strong.
