I grew up being the scrawny kid. No one thought I was good at sports due to my size. I was never picked to play with or even just to hang out. I always got tired of it but never did anything about it.
Due to a family crisis (which you can read about in my blog), I woke up to the fact that the way I live now determines how I am going to live in the future. In 2007 I took action and decided enough is enough. I have seen some improvements but I am no way satisfied. I did not have the experience or education when I first started which determined my level of progress.
I started off with cardio only since the thought of weights scared me. I eventually moved into some machines in the fall if 2008 but still wasn't doing much weights. The beginning of 2009 I changed gyms and got a new trainer. This guy sure does have me hittin those weights. Around April 2009 he change my routine from heavy weights to crossfit. Crossfit is so intense and I love it. I am addicted that's for sure.
My trainer had me on a 3000-3500 calories diet but now he changed it to about 1800-2000 when I switched over to crossfit.
Why I Love It:
Exercising relaxes me and pumps me up. When I have a bad day, a good workout will always put me in a better mood. I love to workout especially when I am tired because it always fills me with life. And on top of that the attention that I receive gives me more confidence.
How I Stay Motivated:
The fact that people have never believed in me helps. No one thinks I can gain weight or do anything successful in my life. Well, they are wrong. When I get discouraged or want to give up I just take my shirt off and look in the mirror. I see where I am. I think of where I could be. And I think of where they think I will never be able to reach. The attention and positive comments just pump me up and pushes me to go to the next level. I also believe that God has given us a temple (our body) to take care of. It is up to us what we do with that body. So I take honor in worshiping God through health and exercise. And that pumps me up spiritually, mentally and physically.
BB Accomplishments:
I have activated my decision to make a change for the better. That's an accomplishment in my eyes.
Quitting smoking was a huge accomplishment for myself.

I just wanted to write a post since I haven't in a while. Since I have been in the gym for a while now I have noticed some annoying behaviors from some of the people in the gym. One of the things that I have noticed is people talking on the phone while "working out". I mean how...
so you are into CrossFit workouts. Yes, so am I, even at my age. I love the workouts. my son got me involved with CrossFit. I had to take a break, but I do some of the exercises at my weight room. still feel good and love the pain
stay focused
Yeah, I'm SO GLAD that summer break is here! I have a lot of things around the house to get done, and I needed the time off. Hopefully I can stay diligent with my training. Overall, I think I'm doing pretty good. Still working on the BF tho.
