Workout Program:
Alright, although I'm just now getting serious about strength training, as you can tell by my pitiful pics, I've been doing alot of reading and research for the past four or five years. What I've come to realize, it's the shock you give your muscles that makes them develop to what they become. In the June issue of M&F mag, we are blessed with an article about a 4 week high set "muscle blasting" workout targeting only 2 or 3 body parts to annihilate per day. Week 1 = 8 sets, 8 reps. Rest 2 minutes. Week 2 = 10 sets, 10 reps. Week 3 = 12 sets, 12 reps. Week 4 = 15 sets, 15 agonizing reps. Each week of the "blast" week, I will hit the gym 6 days to make sure every body part is hit twice during that week. However, I'm turning this into a 12 week adventure.
The 1st week I will follow as directed, 8 sets,8 reps. Weeks 2 & 3 I will follow with the traditional 3 to 4 set @ 10 to 12 reps. Week 4 will be the 10 set, 10 rep week. Weeks 5 & 6 will again be followed with the 3 to 4 set, 10 to 12 reps session. Week 7 will be consumed with the 12 sets, 12 reps. Weeks 8 & 9, 3 to 4 sets... and week 10 will be the 15 set, 15 rep week. And then week 11 & 12, the traditional.
I think this is a pretty good time period for a successful transition, giving the amount of switch-ups every few weeks for an intense "wake your muscles up" routine.
If anyone has any feedback or just general comments, please let me know. I'm open for any advice.
