Overall Goal: I want to lose 20 lbs of fat and gain 10 lbs of muscle.
I want to win a US Marines t-shirt at the state fair in 2010. All it takes is 20 pull ups.

When I Started:
Jul, 2009
How I Started:
I've lifted weights on and off for the last 20 years. It's been mostly off for the last 9 years. I've been training for triathlons the last 3 years, and I haven't been doing any weight training. I was doing loads of swimming, biking and running, but I wasn't losing my stomach.
I'm turning 40 this year and I want to transform my body and get to the point where I can see some abs. I did the Body For Life challenge 10 years ago and loved how I felt then.
Why I Love It:
I like feeling strong and healthy. It makes the rest of my day easier. It definitely makes it easier to keep up with my kids.
How I Stay Motivated:
Checking out the transformations and progress pics on BodySpace is a great motivator.
BB Accomplishments:
None yet.

Goal (Long):
I've been competing in triathlons for the last three years. Last year I did a 1/2 Ironman. During the 6 months of training for the half, I only lost 5 lbs. My diet was not good. I would fool myself into thinking, "I just ran 10 miles, I deserve an Oreo blizzard".
My focus this summer is to gain muscle, flexibility and to eat right. I'm turning 40 this September.
How has bodybuilding and fitness helped you to be a better parent?
It helps me keep up with my kids. I know eventually they'll be stronger and faster than me, but I don't have to make it easy for them.:-)
I was getting winded at a water park walking up the stairs for the slides when I realized that enough was enough. I had to get in better shape. It helps me keep up with my kids. I know eventually they'll be stronger and faster than me, but I don't have to make it easy for them.:-)

Do you have a significant other?
Yes
How has bodybuilding and fitness helped or hurt your relationship?
It helps because it makes me feel better about my self. I do have to limit the time I spend so I don't impose on family time too much. I do most of my workouts in the morning before work.
The family and I went up to a cabin in Northern Minnesota for a week. I went jogging and did 100 pushups and 100 lunges everyday. It was a very productive vacation. Not! I didn't do anything except play with my kids, read 3 books and not catch fish. I guess casting a fishing line a few...
My grandmom is doing better. Her left foot is still black but is slowly getting better. Her church brought her a love seat to sleep in, because she can't get in the bed. Other than that I'm doing better getting focus and starting a new term in school. I passsed my last term with all A's and losing more weight, so my spirits are back up.
thanks for your comment on my blog. it was definitely a fun race and i felt strong the entire time. the kids marathon is something new to me. the kids run 25 miles cumulatively (we keep a log) and they run the last 1.2 miles on race day. my son's pretty excited about it (but not excited about how out of shape he is.. haha)
Things are still hectic ... but I have a plan, hopefully with some organization things will fall into place.Still walking daily as I run my errands so that's one positive outcome. Hope you had a great birthday!
Thank you! That's awesome, I hope she enjoys it and possibly finds this could be a new talent for herself (if she hasn't already seen or tried BMX).
Take care!
It comes and goes, thanks for asking. I'll be taking some nyquil in a few and pass out for some well needed rest. Hopefully I'll kick this crap soon! Muah for asking!
I had a great week overall. Training was good and diet was spot on. I didn't see the loss of pounds as I had hoped, but I will take any losses at this point in the game! Living alone these days has helped with the diet :)
Thank you! It was a surprise. About 3 miles into it I realized that I would place - I didn't realize that I was doing that well with my training. I guess running with my husband and his friends pays off. ;)
