How I Started:
I got started by doing the exercises as seen on mattfurey.com. In the 90's I would do the Mike Mentzer style workouts and I experienced great strength gains. 1998 I began drinking heavily, playing in bands. I am beginning all over again at age 38.
Why I Love It:
I like seeing the results and being able to change my appearance. It's petty, but, I enjoy doing what people tell me I can't, or really, what they can't and won't do. I am the kind of person that needs a battle, and transforming myself again at age 38 is that battle at this point in life.
How I Stay Motivated:
simple, I look at my profile pic. I look at the pictures of others on bb.com and I feel like I'm missing out on what life has to offer by remaining sedentary, drunk, and flabby. I realize my profile pic is something you could go your whole life without seeing, but I am trying to motivate myself. What better way than embarrassing myself on the www?
BB Accomplishments:
alternate -Extreme Fighting 2 -1996 Hook n Shoot heavyweight tournament - 1996 USWF 4 - 1997 not bodybuilding, but, I was in shape and getting killed at mma in my 20's.

What celebrity body would you most like to have? Why?
I"m not interested in celebrities, let's see if fat ol' MK Downing can shock and awe, and be the star of his own life, at 9% bodyfat, looking good, and being happy.

What do you think about people who "grunt" loudly while working out? Do you do it?
If it's legit, not acting, I"m ok with it. I'm surprised when I do it.

I"m very happy today because I am now weighing in under 270 lbs for the first time in about 11+ months.  The diet is going good, and the workouts even better: I can now do five unassisted dips on the weight-assisted dip/chinup contraption in our gym, as opposed to being able to do none in...
