Background

When I Started: Nov 2009
HOW I STARTED:

I caught the fitness bug about 7 years ago. I was in decent shape for many years, but it was only after the birth of my second child Nov 2008 that i made a promise to myself that i would fulfill my dreams to compete. I have 2 children taylor 16 and gabriel 20mths. I had taylor when i was 16 so i was very much a single mom with the help from my very supportive family! After many years i thought i was ready to marry the man of my dreams, but once we found out i was pregnant he left! I was on my own throughout my whole pregnancy and remain a single mom today but i have NEVER been HAPPIER!! So that is one of the biggest reasons why i became total dedicated to the gym and working out! I needed to feel stronger physically mentally and emotionally. And there is no better way than to start transforming your body

WHY I LOVE IT:

I love working out because it makes me feel that i can concur any of lifes challenges that come my way! i have been through a tremendous amount of stress and because i use working out as a stress reliever i am a much better person, mother, freind and nurse!

8 weeks till Comp Day!!

Time flies! Only eight more weeks until I hit the stage again! I'm quite excited! Finally my diet is back on track. Eating on protiens and fats certainly did not agree with me. Live and learn I guess. My workouts hve stayed the same pretty much. The only real big change is now I will be doing 2hrs and 15minutes of cardio/day, yuck!! I hare the thought of it, but doing so much cardio always keeps my mood up! Today was the first day of increased cardio. I did 30min elipical, 30min cycling and later in he afternoon, took my lil gabe in his chariot and hit the trails for an hour. He is always at p...

Revamped diet

As mentioned in earlier blogs, my pre contest diet consists of 3 days protiens and fats 1 day protiens and greens. Having been on this diet now for a few weeks, I have noticed that the "fats" part is not for me. My fat intake was peanut butter, almond butter, whole eggs and nuts. Normally I am able to eat these foods with no difficulty, but when I was limited to having greens, like broccoli, spinach etc once every 3 days my body began to react. If there is a feeling I hate more than anything is feeling bloated and puffy. I have felt like this for a few weeks, so it's time to go back...

However, today was a day filled with cravings of all sorts! It was also a day of tiredness, for whatever reason. Could be that my sleep last night was interupted more than once by a 32lb boy trying to get himself comfortable in MY bed. Once he got comfy then it was time for my 10lb dog to find her comfy spot. The both of them are the smallest beings in my house but seriously take up most of the room!! As for my cravings, I was craving fruits and a burrito from one of the local burrito joints. I have one cheat meal per week so today was the day. A burrito it was! And my goodness the taste of ch...
