When I Started:
Jan, 2005
How I Started:
I wanted to smash skulls!
Why I Love It:
I hate body building, I think it's stupid! I want to get bigger and stronger! Strength and hypertrophy with the big bread winners.
How I Stay Motivated:
I look around my gym and see people who have been there for over a year and look the same and lift the same amount of weight... I've passed a lot of people up and continue to do so, that is huge motivation.
BB Accomplishments:
I don't "bodybuild," I train for raw strength and just overall size. No time to waste on concentration/isolation
What type of injury was it? How long were you injured? How did you recover?
It was a shoulder injury. Like most beginners, I was obsessed with pushing my bench up. I was such a newbie... Anyway I got so frustrated (because I wasn't eating enough) that I started subconsciously neglecting my form so I could lift heavier. Bench press a few times a week with terrible form jacked up the shoulder for a couple weeks. I learned my lesson. It was a shoulder injury. What is the most dangerous weightlifting exercise? Why?
good mornings! Who the hell ever thought of those? It puts way too much pressure on the back of your neck, you don't want to be messing around with those.
After my last post i looked through the bodyblogs and saw about 50 posts on some dumb fcuking computer game or something. And I've decided, I just want to punch this whole place in the pen1s.
My program changes frequently. The basic idea though is that I work muscles in opposition (agonist/antagonist, or push/pull.) I do mainly compound multi-joint movements because I don't have time to focus on isolation, plus I think it's just more efficient... So now my program looks...
Good to hear from you bro. Enjoy reading your blog. If the focus you're expressing there is panning out in your day to day life, there will be awesome things coming your way.
Its true dude ... I am learning the same in my CPT course. You gotta track what is going on. It is a great source of motivation too when you see improvements. Keep it going bro!
Thanks for your blog comment. I agree with you totally. I know people don't mean to but Ive told this specific person a lot that I dont want to be rude but Im trying really hard to resist treats, and then a day later that person gives me a whole jar of jelly beans. I think if they know and you told them they should respect your choice, ya know?
Thank you ;) Today was defiantly a challenge for me didnt want to do anything today but Im so glad I made the right choices lol Thanks for the support ;)
Thanks have been going quite decent on my end. Got the diet dialed back to 2400 calories a day and I am starting to see more ab definition. Very cool. We'll see what the new pics look like in a couple of weeks. Glad to hear that you are liking where you are headed. The training I am sure is a good diversion to studies. Have a great Thanksgiving!
Thanks mikschu! It is quite a mix I have got going. All over the map! Turbulence is the word that comes to mind when I think about what I am up to at the moment. My workout partner commented this morning that my shoulders were beat red when I was about halfway through the shoulder/trap routine this morning ... that would be a good sign, eh? You tube is great for workout ideas. Be relentless mikschu.
"Have you tried the overhead squat yet?" Is that like a squat with dumb bells on the shoulders and then you press them up after you get upright from the squat? No ... but I might. Glad to see you keep'n at it bro and thanks for the encouragement. Continue to be relentless!
You are so on point to focus on legs. It spikes all the hormones that you need to pack on muscle and it won't be just your legs that you find growing either. It spurs other muscle groups as well. Thanks for looking over the progress pics! No retreat, no surrender ... be relentless.
Things have been a bit trying the last week being out of town [see the blog], but it's on the upswing now. Previous workout partner is plugging back in with me this morning. Adding in that touch of competition should give things a lift. Glad to hear about your motivation and look forward to your next progress pics bro ... continue to be relentless.
Thanks for tip, you're awesome, setting the bar really high, I'll give that a try! I managed to do 7,5,5, today, the last 5 included much cheating but I held on with everything!
Hello there, congratulations - 10 pullups, that is absolutely awesome! Determination and consistency - love it. Did I ever say thank you? Ever since you advised me a couple months ago to up my calories I've had fab results! Thank you!
