How I Started:
I started during my 2nd semester in college in February 2003, after I finally got sick and tired of people thinking I was some kind of pushover. Before that I didn't really give a shit. There was a small period not even a year before I started where I would wake up and do push ups and cruches, but that did not last long. When I startd I knew nothing about proper nutrition, technique...nothing. So I went nowhere for a long time and it was all my fault - I didn't even strat taking protien powder until almost a year later!
Why I Love It:
I can't describe the excitement I get when my bare hands touch those barbells, the rush I get when I feel the muscles getting a pounding when I squat or deadlift, the feeling I get when I know I'm leaving the gym stronger that I was when I walked in. Not only that, but my confidence and self esteem have both sky rocketed. Lifting weights has proven very theraputic to me. It's an addiction with great benefits! I also love that it's the one place where no one judges me exceot for if I'm doing something wrong to avoid my hurting myself. It feels so good to know that these guys will watch over me to ensure my safety. They actually care!

I want to defy genetics and be as HUGE and as strong as I possibly can get. There is no time period for this goal because I've been trying for over 6 years now. But this time I think I found the perfect workout to get me there and I'm eating more than I ever have. I will take all the time I need. I will work my ass off the same as I have since I started. I will et there come hell or high water - I will never be a skinny runt ever again!!
What do you do before your workout to get motivated and energized?
I'm motivated everyday. It's all I think about other than the new Street Fighter 4 game. lol All I think about at work, with girls, or doing anything is about going to the gym.
At one point I was doing the Starting Strength rountine as recommended to me someone on this site. Squatting 3 times a week became too much for me. What I do now is a powerlifter style routine that I tweaked to fit my needs.
