When I Started:
Aug, 2006
How I Started:
I started lifting weights in my last year of High School, but was more into the buzz from high intensity cardio, rather than bodybuilding. While I was working in demolition durring my year off, I found that I did not poses the same strength that I used to have, and started lifting weights to make work easier. Over that summer, and after quitting my job, I actually started learning about lifting, buying weights, and started becoming very serious about lifting as a whole. I still didn't lift consistently until late October, 2006. About a year after that, I began to bodybuild rather than simply lifting for strength.
Why I Love It:
I love the connection to my body. I need so much concentration, it feels nearly meditative or spiritual. The progress I have seen is also something that really inspires me... bodybuilding is a huge part of my life.
How I Stay Motivated:
It's easy to stay motivated, because this is my dicipline. I love training and eating, so it's natural to approach it with enthusiasm.
Without bodybuilding, I know I would drift steadily into madness.
BB Accomplishments:
In September (ironically the same day I broke my foot in 26 places) I deadlifted 500lbs at 220 lean. Since I started about 2 1/2 years ago i have gained 65 lbs in lean muscle, even with the injury.

I want to recover from my surgery, get back to serious training that has been only on and off since the original break six months ago, and continue to strive towards my long-term goal.
Goal (Long):
I will be 240 lbs at 10% body fat by this time next year. The twenty six fractures I sustained six months ago have set me back, but I know my body and my dedication, both in the gym and in the kitchen, and truly believe I can reach this.
While at this weight and leanness I will remain unrefined, I will work on refining my physique for competition thereafter.
Weight Goal:
I want to GAIN 30 lb
