When I Started:
Jul, 2008
How I Started:
I ended the summer before 10th grade weighing 193 pounds and after seeing my Quince pictures, decided to lose weight. I went to my senior prom weighing 154 lbs and havent been above 165 since.
Why I Love It:
I refuse to buy bigger clothes, so its great when old clothes fit again and I have more options in my closet. Plus, I live in Miami, so feeling great in a bathing suit is kind of essential.
How I Stay Motivated:
In 2005, Weight Watchers got me down to 147, but after my 20th birthday I lost motivation and gained about 10 pounds. In 2007, hoping that I would lose a lot at Army Basic Training I got lazy about it until I left, but came home weighing the same (and only a little more toned). Now my motivation is my wedding in about a year, but it seems to get harder as I get older and my entire family is overweight, which doesn't help.
My favorite quote from my WW leader is "nothing tastes as good as being skinny feels".
BB Accomplishments:
I know this will be minor in the future, but right now its huge. I left for Basic Training only being able to do 3 push ups and came back doing 30+, and I can do 75-80 sit ups in 2 minutes.
I want to be healthy. My entire family is overweight and I refuse to give up the fight. I want to lose weight, but I also want to be toned and am finally discovering that building muscle helps burn fat. I don't want to have to worry about passing my Army Physical Fitness Tests (twice a year, and I've never failed one, but it always makes me nervous) and I am sick of trying out my entire closet before I go out because nothing looks good.

If you are interested in a program that really works at getting rid of bodyfat as well as getting you into great shape I suggest you check out Body for Life. It is a 12-week total body transformation program that gives you a great nutrition plan along with both weightlifting and cardio routines. My wife (bodyspace: judimax) went from a size 12/14 to a 4/6 and I lost over 50 lbs going from 36 to 10% bodyfat in just 12 weeks with the BFL program. Let us know if you would like more info.
