When I Started: Aug 2008
HOW I STARTED:

I'm getting older and I want to get in good shape... I've lifted for decades but thought I better really get started now or who knows...

WHY I LOVE IT:

I like being in charge of my body and training it very calculatingly.

My Workout Program

Once a week I hit Back/Bicep/Shoulders and Traps with th weights and do TRX that hits these muscles.

Once a week I hit Chest/Tricep/Legs and Abs with the weights and then do TRX that hits these muscles.

Twice a week I do a 12-14 move circuit x 3-4 with the TRX for the full body.

Twice a week I'll do a dedicated core/ab routine with the TRX.

I rock the road bike 100-150 miles a week.

TRX is the bomb and when I have the physique I want I know I'll be able to attribute it to this revolutionary piece of equipment.

Keeping with the "no weights" policy...  TRX 3x a week and group cycle 4x a week.  Taking one day off each week.  I just recently got a Gymboss interval timer and man talk about a must have.  Makes for a very efficient workout.  Take control and timer your moves.  Also own a mid-level heart rate monitor.  If you don't have one, you're missing out.


 


TRX, cycling and Tabata styled bodyweight moves have reinvented my fitness routine.  As much as I dare not say it here, I have no desire to be large

TRX Suspension Trainer

I have been rocking the TRX Suspension trainer for about a month now as I picked one up on Craigslist for about $80. I use it on my back/bicep day, doing back and bicep work in addition to some ab specific and core exercises. I also use it on chest/tricep day, again doing moves specific to that days focus. I'll also rock it twice later during the week doing a 10-15 move circuit that I will rock 10 reps on each move and do the circuit 3-4 times. Off Day Tuesday December 15th

Off day from the weights.  Also taking a day off from the office.  I'll hang around the house and do some puttsy stuff.  Too effing cold to go out right now (-3 F).  Hitting the gym tonite to hang with the kids.  The boy likes to throw the football around and race about in the gymnasium.  We'll walk the track a few laps and hit the stretching area where I'll do some loosely crafted ab work.  The little guy has taken an interest in exercising.  Maybe in about 7 years I'll start training him personally.  The Gym Rats Bodygroup is planning a meeting so...

OCD2702 No. I rep 315 for 6. That's the 1RM the Bodyspace calculator comes up with. My partner pushes me real hard. He's 6'2", 225, and pushes three wheels for double digits. I just try to keep up.
