I used to take aerobics classes with my Mom when I was a young teenager. I was always active and played on many sports teams. I got a job working on the front desk of a local gym in Nanaimo, BC, Canada and of course I could use the gym for free. Eventually they needed some more aerobics instructors and asked me if I would be interested in taking my training course. I thought about it and said yes as I was already taking aerobics classes and thought why not get paid for doing something that I already like... the rest, as they say, is history...
Why I Love It:
I like to take/teach group fitness classes and I like to train others in the gym.
How I Stay Motivated:
By seeing the goals that others (my participants and clients) achieve. Geting paid to do something I like is always nice too, but honestly the pay is not much when you look at how much personal time you put into it.
Have been injured for the past year. First it was a major ankle sprain, tendon tear and then it was an ulnar nerve issue in my left arm. It's been frustrating as I am not able to do much of anything these days without these two issues dampering my progress.
