When I Started:

How I Started:
I started playing soccer at a young age and continued throughout high school. Even with intense soccer conditioning my weight got up to 160 lbs. At that time I didn't realize that I was overweight as most Michiganders are overweight and Americans in general have become increasingly accepting of extra weight (although I would say the opposite attitude toward American celebrities is true).
In 10th grade, I went as an exchange student to Brazil where people are much more concerned with physical appearance and I realized I was overweight but believed it was just a heritable trait. Once I returned to the States in 11th grade I dieted and lost 15 pounds. In 12th grade, I decided that I wanted to train for a marathon. I lost 15 more lbs, down to 130 lbs, but over trained resulting in a knee injury and consequently never ran a marathon.
For the next 4 years I led a sedentary lifestyle but only gained 5 or 10 more lbs. While spending 3 months in Lebanon, I was shocked by how many Arab celebrities were not as fit as American celebrities. The difference, I believe, is because of a lack of cultural pressure to be fit in Arab culture. That is when I realized that one’s appearance has very little to do with heritablity and everything to do with personal choices. I decided to chose to be fit.
I began running againg and some weight training in order to develop strong legs, especially quads, to prevent injury. Now by weight ranges from 118-122 lbs. My weight is pretty low for my height. I would like to gain more muscle and begin competing in fitness competitions.

I found a pic of when I was 18 and about 140 lbs. I don't know what I was thinking wearing a dress with a pattern like that. Just plain unflattering and UUUGLYYY!
I need a fixie.
